Re: USB host mode like Moto Droid?

Just to be clear though, the it5 does support USB host using the mini dock. Also, it looks like there is supper for a USB host cable they can plug in to the dock port ( I'm currently waiting for a USB cable im going to try to mod to work that way. )

Re: USB host mode like Moto Droid?

I had spent some time trying to do the same but found that it's not supported at the Linux kernel level on the 5it. I even attempted rebuilding the kernel to add support but have not found a way to make I work yet. I bought a special cable in order to try making it work but no dice. I'm not saying i...

Re: Angstrom / How to patch...

You only need to patch something if you're going to build the Angstrom image from scratch. Otherwise just install the .aos file linked there. If you want to build your own Angstrom image- you can follow this tutorial even though it's or the gen6 device. m A couple of differences to the tutorial, in ...

Hi svolatch- sorry I'm not going to have time to do it now for a while- I'm currently flashed for Android not SDE and I won't have time to change it for another week or so. Re: installing enlightenment? Issue w/profile select [SOLVED]

Hey Spz0 - would you be willing to share your whole .bb image file?

I'm still having no luck getting this going and I'm really interested in trying it. Are you using the release/2009 branch of OE?

cheers,

Collin

Re: Droid Eris kicks the crap out of A5IT during 3D game...

Yah, actually once the TI driver baked into Archos5It's android image the capabilities will be far better than a Droid Eris. They will be similar to the Motorola Droid since they have more or less the same OMAP3 chip in them. I've done some OpenGL ES tests on my own SDE image on Archos5IT and OpenGL...

Re: HOWTO: Easy root for 1.7.XX

Hey Devo- I'm trying to get copied in native executables to run since we have root. Does this seem possible to you? It seemed like it would be possible because I looked at what your install.sh is doing and it looks like it's just mounting a ubi fs, then adding in busybox as su. I tried copying a nat...

Re: installing enlightenment? Issue w/profile select [SOLVED]

@joethc: For video out, here is some really thorough documentation of the omapfb driver that should be pretty helpful to that end (you maybe already have this m This is the same that is used in the Android distribution that comes with the Archos5IT. I'm hacking around with this in android as well, i...

Very cool- I've been trying to get E with illume up and running as well and hadn't discovered this. Will have to try this some time today. Have you guys had success with getting other things working? I'm planning to start a Wiki for what I'm working on- a Games and Media oriented linux image for Arc...

Re: How can YOU help Open Development?

Hi guys, will the bug reports be separated out into Archos5 and Archos5IT specific sections?

I'd like to start enumerating what is wrong with Angstrom on the Archos5IT, if only to share my frustrations ;)

How to set bootargs in OpenEmbedded for ArchosIT?

I'm having trouble finding where I might be able to set omapfb.video_mode settings or any other bootargs for ArchosIT. Does anyone have an idea of how to do that?

I tried to set this in the commands at the end of the archos5it machine conf, but that didn't seem to do it~

Re: HOWTO: Easy root for 1.7.XX

Almost, unfortunately /data/bin isn't in the PATH, so you'll have to either... export PATH=$PATH:/data/bin to use plain 'ol su, or simply use /data/bin/su ah nice! it *is* working. I thought I had done something wrong because when I cd'd to /data/bin and did ls it said it could not ls for that fold...

Re: HOWTO: Easy root for 1.7.XX

On a more on topic note- if I've done this correctly, should I be able to install the app Android Terminal Emulator from Android Market, and type su and be able to switch to root? Because that's not working for me...

cheers!

Re: HOWTO: Easy root for 1.7.XX

Hey Devo- a little off topic but-

I've been playing with openembedded and building an EXT3 angstrom image, but I was wondering, how did you get your image to be 433 MB? Mine are coming out as 99MB with no extra room.

Re: DUALOS for Archos 5 IT

Hi guys, first post for me. I'm also working on custom firmwares for 5IT. My main hopes are to 1.) get some decent speed video playback in linux with divx etc. 2.) get decent 2d/3d acceleration and SGX drivers working. I wonder if anyone is watching the OpenPandora project? Similar SOC TI OMAP3 3530...
