Replying to myself but it may help someone. If you delete any of the files on the archos while using hard drive mode (not media player) then all of you id3 tag info will be lost when you try and browse by title, genre, etc. To fix this go to Settings > Customer > Repair and formatting tools > Delete...

Hello, Just wanted to get this on the internet b/c it may help someone. If you use "Hard Disk" usb mode to transfer your files then you have to rebuild something called the Arclib manually. hi, you can directly update to the latest FW. But if you are on 1.6.54 hacked the online update from the player which would download the original FW and not the patched FW. the ubunto isn't relly the issue - it's the figures for the partition - I'm not sure how to work it out so hoping someone can do it for me.
