A decent review - the Flyer looks very nice.
Only downside and which really pees my off is the US price $299. Over here in the UK the Flyer is being advertised on Amazon for £483 - that's around $750! And that's not even Honeycomb.
Britain PLC rip-off capital of the world. I feel sorry ...

I enjoy that capacity on my 70it, but the HTC Flyer is faster, quicker booting, has Scribe technology, and also does everything the 70 does.
And the HTC Flyer also costs about 600£ over here. Nice try. 8) If Google's money calculations are correct, I really feel sorry for you. The Flyer was ...

Sadly Archos seems to be the only company sticking hard drives into their tablets. I enjoy that capacity on my 70it, but the HTC Flyer is faster, quicker booting, has Scribe technology, and also does everything the 70 does. Hard to not get one now that they are $299. My review went up today.

Re: Print from A70IT
Yes. You have to print from the Canon App though. Breaks the normal sequence of needs we are used to on our PCs. I just finished reviewing the HTC Flyer, and with HTC's Sense UI on it there is ubiquitous printing from within any app that makes sense. I won't be using my 70 any more for more than ...

Re: Archos 80 G9 Versus Vizio Tablet - Archos Wins
I've got the Vizio tablet. While it works fine they skinned it with their own UI and to me that's a frustrating departure from the expected android UI. The three speakers are a novel idea. The remote control app is basic at best, with no macro capability. As a sofa appliance it does fine, but I'm ...

Re: The Archos 80 Is Out
Those of you who buy this 1ghz 8 enjoy it. My only interest in the G9 line was the accelerated 1.5ghz models and hard drive storage. Frankly I'm not sure why Archos is bothering with this model.

Re: Will Archos be outclassed by Git?
Without seeing the screen they use, how thick they are, and how quick they react in use there is nothing about these GIT tablets that keeps my attention. I've got 250gb in my Archos 70it and although that capacity is nice the need for it grows less and less as cloud services (Google Music Beta ...

Re: Sony might want your Archos
I picked up the Sony Tablet S and find it to be a great tablet that is well engineered, original, and beautiful to look at (both the screen and the thing itself). I had a 10% discount code for JR.com and got mine for $450. They've updated them to android 3.2, and mine runs great. Even bought the ...

I don't really get what keeps these companies dragging their feet. I've known about the Gen 9s most of this year it seems.

Re: New member and G9 80 on pre-order :)
I'll be surprised if Archos keeps charging for it's extra codec pack. Why? If these tablets come with the Google Market app, then you can download the Mobiplayer APK that then downloads its own codec pack to play any video you throw at it.

Re: Archos G9 80 vs Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7
I'm a bit surprised with the 7.7" screen offering. It's almost as if there was short supply of 8", 7", and 10.1" screens for a new product, so Samsung found an old case of 7.7" netbook screens they could use for yet another tablet.
I have a couple of 8" 4:3 screened devices, and really like that ...

Re: Gen9 10" Vs. 8" Which One Are You Getting?
I'll have to try the 10.1 with a hard drive. Mostly interested to seeing how it compares to the other 10.1 tablets on the market with just flash memory. Curious how well the hard drive will survive a slide off the sofa to the carpet. My flash based tablets haven't flinched.

Re: Archos G9 101 VS. Asus EEE Pad Transformer
I've picked up the Asus Transformer 10.1, the Acer Iconia 10.1, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, and the iPad 2. Not sure that any of them need to be faster to work fine. Hopefully the Gen9s from Archos will offer more than just a faster clock speed. WiFi printing to WiFi capable printers would be nice ...

I've been playing with the Acer Iconia and Asus Transformer tablets, and am really enjoying the Honeycomb UI. I'd sure love to see that on my Archos 70/250.

You can even throw the iPad into that list. iPad forums I've visited are typically half full of problems people are having with their iPads. From backlight leaks to yellowing, it is all there.

Re: downloading photos onto ARCHOS 70 6 250GB
Your cameras are no doubt looking for a power signal from the tablet, which it won't be providing. Take the media card out and try it in a passive (unpowered) USB card reader and the tablet/cable.

Re: WMA Lossless Audio - playback fails
True. I haven't gotten WMA lossless to play on any android device except the Creative Zen Touch-2. In the tech specs on Archos' site they have this disclaimer:
1/ Certain bitrates, resolutions, and/or file variations may not be compatible.
Now you know why.

Re: Not so Brilliant
Archos came up with a file splitter just to cope with video files larger than 2gb. Looks to me like the fat32 file system is to blame, with any file growing over 2gb running into trouble. Archos has done huge hard drives before so if that's what is happening then this is a rookie mistake.
