Re: So, what have I missed?

I'll have to take a good look at it, it's been quite awhile. Mostly just a matter of finding all my old folders and docs. :) As far as root explorer goes that shouldn't be much of a big fix. There's definitely a way to get it to stick ;) I have an old 2.1 running on mine atm until I update and blow ...

So, what have I missed?

Obviously been gone for awhile so I'm feeling pretty out of the loop. Real life issues notwithstanding, I think it's high time we rock 2.X on the a5it. I've seen the other root thread but I'm looking for the most pertinent links to bring me up to date on the root/update situation. Thanks to anyone w...

Re: No market hack -- Calendar woes

IMO just install the calendar with the single apk dependency, rather than all of it. A lot easier than trying to swim upstream.

Re: How do paid apps work

Basically anything you buy 'legit' from the market will always appear and be redownloadable in your market list, even after a clean flash (as long as you're on the same google account) - however, apps you just push onto your device will not be 'registered' within your google list, and pushing the ap...

Re: How to "flash" the Archos 5

I don't have all this information readily available, but I can tell you this: - Completely different from EVERY other android device, basically forget everything you know about them - A gigantic pain in the ass to test compared to EVERY other android device - and they (archos) spend their time tryin...

Re: Do you approve of...

Is it not possible they simply do not want to spend resources providing the coding for the ability to roll back? In a way i can understand they choose to allocate time for moving forward, after all that is what we want, no? So I have to vote forget the old fw and move on. No, quite the opposite. Th...

That's what's being discussed here. I should have been more clear about that.

Forgotten no, working on other semi-related things yes ;)

edit: in conclusion, my opinion is do not update to 2.0.15 yet.

Re: I Can't Decide Whether to Upgrade to 2.0.15 or Not.

I really don't know what to say about 2.0.15. I don't play games, so the value of the OpenGL 3D hardware acceleration, is kind of lost on me. Except that the whole thing seems more responsive. The user interface seems snappier. The things which worked ok for me before, still work ok, with the excep...

Re: WARNING: No FW Rollback or SDE on 2.0.15 or 1.9.10

So the SDE will be updated, what about the people who want to go back to 1.7.33?

edit: Anyone willing to test 1.9.10 and see if it's the same? Tsk tsk archos, 2nd time now.

Re: Viruses

Been knee deep in work lately, just thought I'd pop my head in with my two cents; @viruses/spyware/crapware - Only install applications you trust. 99% of the "antivirus/anti spyware/anti malware" apps are just that themselves. Google around a bit, you'll see quite a few of them debunked, showing tha...

Wow, I wish I had this back when I was into skateboarding - very nice.

Suggestion: don't lock the main menu into portrait mode (I realize this is a5a specific, so take it for what it's worth :p )

Heh, not exactly the most intuitive, but it works (the market, that is) :D

Congrats on your first publish! Checking it out now (as soon as a reboot is finished)
