Re: ICS test firmware tackling Wi-Fi and HDMI issues
The firmware does not want to install. It does not get recognized as firmware. Downloaded it on the tablet twice and once on my computer, I get the same error everytime. Make sure the file you are trying to use has not been renamed after download to .zip or .aos.zip It should only end in .aos Renam...

Re: Screen ribbon cable connector broken
Since you have provided me with a link to a new battery I will give you my method for connecting the screen cable back up after the connector lock snaps off. Obtain a flat piece of thin, stiff plastic (the blister wrap off alkaline battery packs is just about correct) Cut a strip exact width of the ...

Re: Is it really possible to watch flash video reliably on a
A new update to Flash 11 appeared on the market recently for my Flyer, it states bug fixes and better compatibility with Android 4.
Ok, this does not necessarily address all G9 probs but with ICS on the horizon, ya never know until you try it!
YEAH! WHO SAID NO MORE FLASH UPDATES FOR ANDROID.....

Quite a good point!zandoli wrote: HTC Flyer has single core processor.
It could be flash is not optimized for the 2 cores of the processors involved with Honeycomb OS.

Re: Is it really possible to watch flash video reliably on a
I think you will find flash content playback problems on many sites is due to HC itself Not just the Archos Gen9's. I have a HTC Flyer that when upgraded from Gingerbread to Honeycomb, lost the ability to access the BBC iPlayer site via the app and was redirected to the actual webpage due to the app...

Re: best funny joke...
A friend of mine was saying a pal of his passed away recently.
He was a guy who would try any sort of weird remedy to stave off the inevitable.
Just before the end he even tried covering his back completely in lard.
He went downhill really fast after that.....

Re: Archos G9 1.2Ghz October and 1.5Ghz December availabilit
Amazon is obviously taking the number 2 spot now for tablet maker, but it's quite likely that Archos is worldwide number 3 tablet maker in front of Samsung/Asus/B&N/Acer/Dell/Motorola/Huawei/ZTE and other. Archos outselling Samsung and Asus? Charbax, you do come out with some gems at times... Yes i...

Re: Archos G9 1.2Ghz October and 1.5Ghz December availabilit
I have to say that the thought of a tablet with a spinning platter inside with its rotational momentum and potential head crash risk is a bit disheartening. Anyone have experience with a HDD equipped tablet? Archos have been making HDD based tablets since 1999. Well in the beginning they were just ...

Don't get me wrong but adding extra bloatware in the form of Trial games is not my idea of a benefit when you can download any from the market and remove them when required.

Turn 3G stick on in the quick settings menu, in the lower right corner. I tested with a HD and I hear it spins up, but after that nothing. :( Try rebooting with hdd plugged in. My hard drive works. Also, two other things to consider... 1, check that its format is compatible with the Gen9 2, if you ...

Re: Questions about screenshots and Tegra 2 store
Catch is, you have to pay for most of the extra codec support. Stop this nonesense immediately. Most codecs are included for free in Archos devices since 2009. You know perfectly well that only Mpeg2 and AC3 required the Mpeg2/Ac3 licence and that the price for it on G9 is not yet set. Since 2009, ...

Re: Archos needs to do a lot of damage control over G9
Yes, Skype works super on Flyer in GB with both cams, what I meant was on a HC G9 Archos it won't, only leaving Gtalk and a few cheap facial photo graph apps able to use its only camera...
