Re: Firmware Version 2.0.45/1.9.34 released

Can someone clarify if I will have to root my archos again if I do this update?
With the last update that is currently on my device, I had to do the "Easy APK Way".

Using AppMonster what does the following mean?

So I downloaded Appmonster so that I can backup all my apps and so that I can download more. But when I go to the appmonster menu and choose "backup" it will give two options, it says "Backup all apps choose an option:" and the 2 options are "replace none/new apps only" or "replace all" . What does ...

Re: Tethering with Boostmobile?

Would this apply to all the Boost Mobile phones or is it different for the CDMA phone that Boost mobile has? Like with Samsung Rant or the Motorla Rambler.
I'd be willing to loss the walkie-talkie feature. If it meant being able to tether.

Tethering with Boostmobile?

I'm currently looking to upgrade my old phone, so I went to a swap meet today and played with two phones. The i465 and the i9 both are motorola. Both phones allow tethering and both pair to the Archos. But when trying to connect via bluetooth in "cell phone tethering" options neither one will. When ...

Re: Please Help me choosing a phone for tethering my a5it

Thanks for the input, the only thing is, I don't know where you use AT&T but here in los angeles I have had bad experiences with their service some of my friends as well. Now with the phones that have been mentioned do either of you think they would work if I can connect them with BoostMobile or Met...

Please Help me choosing a phone for tethering my a5it

Ok I currently have an old motorla with BoostMobile and this past month I paid over $50 to reload the damn thing. So I'm looking to upgrade the service to the monthly $50 plan. But before I do I've been looking at the Sprint and Verizon plans. What I need to know is which phones are the easiest, if ...

Re: Need Help with an E-book

Allen or anyone that has played with Calibre. I have a question about the set-up, I'm in the wizard and its asking me to "Choose Your Book Reader"? But in the Options that are given Archos is not one of them. There is the option for Google/HTC and when picked it says Android Phone + Word Player. Sho...

Need Help with an E-book

Ok I really don't know if its considered an E-book, but it's a book that's on the web. Now my question is what would have to be done in order to access the material when I'm not on the internet (or don't have access to wifi) via the A5? here is the link to the book - http://www.howtobrew.com/intro.h...

Market Hack for 1.7.95??

So I have a problem. I updated the FW and I reset upon start-up, but now I don't have any of the apps that I downloaded or the Market itself. So the question is how do I get MarketPlace back?
I've seen the HOWTO: Easy Root for 1.7.xx by Dev, but I'm not sure if this is what need to be doing.

Michael
Do you mean don't hit the reset button that comes up when the device recommends it because "its your first time running on android 1.6"? Or something similar.

Re: Can the A5 be used as car diagnostics tool?

Does anyone have any up-to-date information on using the A5A as a scan tool. Sorry but not being to techy has me a little confused in regards to being able to use it through a bluetooth connection, wi-fi or if at all. I saw a couple of websites that offer software and hardware for this type of appli...

Re: Dual music libraries?

Hi everyone, I've got some questions about the players, 1. Which one is the android player? The one on the desktop or the one with the speaker icon. 2. The player with the speaker icon has all the music that the desktop player has, but its arranged in a very crappy way. One of the artist (for instan...

Well I'll be... You are right, as long as the wizard and media center are run the unit will keep playing when the screen hits its timeout period. Thanks.
