Re: GFT3 (Stable v1.0) for archos605 wifi (Software Jailbrea
After the reformat of 2.1.04 my content portal now opens, but the hack still wont work. The content portal just opens like normal even after re applying from the step by step guide which is the same one I used before to get it to work. I also tried to use SSH, but got connection refused. Most likely...

Re: GFT3 (Stable v1.0) for archos605 wifi (Software Jailbrea
Thanks for the input. Can I ssh from windows or would I need a Linux OS? I am also a noob without a step by step guide to even attempt this. I think it happened trying to play a video with AC3 audio and for some reason froze the device. Now content portal just wont work even with a fresh format. Upd...

Re: GFT3 (Stable v1.0) for archos605 wifi (Software Jailbrea
This hack has been working since near the beginning and all of the sudden my jsplugins did not rename and everything was out of whack. I reinstalled everything just like the first time and the hack won't make it past the archos content portal. It just sits at the hourglass the whole time. I tried tw...

Re: can you hack from a windows PC.
I hacked my archos 605 wifi 2.1.04 using GTF3 and Windows 7 that's wicked. perhaps you could do a bit of a guide for those that haven't managed to hack theirs yet? I've managed to apply the GF hack and now have all plugins - WooHoo! What's the mouldy cheese hack for? QC Prerequisites 1. Download ht...

Re: GFT3 (Stable v1.0) for archos605 wifi (Software Jailbreak)
Anyone else have their gtf3 working for a few weeks and then the jsplugins didn't rename to jspluginsx on shutdown? Maybe because it froze and I had to use the reset button with a paperclip. Anyways going to re-apply gtf3. I love how easy and fast it is

Re: Problem after trying GFT3
GTF3 works perfect for Archos 605 2.1.04. I have tried myself and has been working with power on and off for over a week.

Re: GFT3 (Stable v1.0) for archos605 wifi (and possible others)
Works! Awesome. <3
Edit: Am I safe to shutdown and it will rename hack to jspluginsx automatically? or do I need to do it myself each time?

Re: GFT3 (Beta1) for archos605 wifi (and possible others)
Am I doing this right? 1. repair mode 2. rename systen.bin to system.old and move new system.bin 3. I am adding everything from GTF3 / Avos / jsplugins folder to "root" of archos. 4. Archweilder to data/arcweilder 5. Shut down 6. Boot up and enable Wifi / fileserver 7. Log onto fileserver from PC / ...

Re: GFT3 (Beta1) for archos605 wifi (and possible others)
I think step 10 in divx118's guide should say to rename jsplugins to jspluginsx before restart (otherwise the opera_home link gets reset on reboot) But it's easier to just run the hack script by launching opera straight away (or content portal), that'll do the rename for you. Having trouble with st...

Re: GFT3 (Beta1) for archos605 wifi (and possible others)
You connect the archos with a usb cable to your pc and use windows explorer to copy the files. Just be sure todo this in the recovery mode which I described in step 2. NOTE: that in the System.bin are also your system settings like language, wallpaper, timezone etc You can change it back manually t...

Re: GFT3 (Beta1) for archos605 wifi (and possible others)
I was thinking about waiting a while to try this but with the guide Divx posted it seems very simple, but had a question before I want to try. When we connect archos to our PC are we making changes like renaming the system.bin, adding the new system.bin, and copying arcweilder and gtf3 through norma...

Re: GFT3 for archos605 (and possible others)
First off awesome job on your work sideways. I have a question if anyone can answer. "This (nonflash) hack survives (normal) shutdown and enables all plugins on harddisk 605s up to latest firmware 2.1.04 " What does nonflash mean? I am running a 605 wifi 2.1.04 and can play flash games. Does this me...

Re: Can anyone help with How to downgrade the Archos 5 firmware?
Just to let you know, I tried this and the system partition is not available in Recovery Mode. It is possible to downgrade though. And another root exploit has been found for 2.1.04. But the info has not been released quite yet. I believe the problem right now is searching to make the changes survi...
