Thanks
Well, after six months and an up-and-down experience, I sold my A5 on eBay. I just wanted to say thank you to Michael, Allen, devo, and all the others on this forum that were such a big help to me over the months as I figured out how to tweak and hack the A5. For the most part, it's a great little d...

How to wipe A5A clean to sell?
I'm thinking of selling my A5A on eBay or Craigslist. I was wondering what I need to do to make sure it's completely wiped clean of all my Google account, login info, passwords, etc. Do I just do a full reinitialization or are there other steps I need to take?

Re: Wirelss won't stay on
Thanks, Michael, for the suggestions. Buster, I know many people have had wireless issues -- I've followed these forums closely since I bought my A5 last November -- but I don't remember reading about this specific problem: the wireless won't turn on at all.

Wirelss won't stay on
WTF? It never fails. Just when I think I've got my A5 running smoothly (as I have for the past month or so) some new problem causes me to have to reinitialize again and go through the whole setup process again. I've been running FW 1.7.71 -- skipped the past couple updates because things were runnin...

Re: Archos Internet Tablet with Opera Mini 5 Browser!
I have the market hack but only for free apps. Any other way to get the paid app outside the market? (paying for it, I mean).

Michael,
I've been trying xscope and I like it a lot. What version are you using? And how do you get more than 10 favorites/bookmarks to show up?

Re: Battery life getting shorter?
Yes, I do. Not sure if that's what it is or not. I try to manage my apps pretty carefully, but a full charge just doesn't seem to be lasting nearly as long as it used to.

Battery life getting shorter?
Is anybody else noticing a big dip in battery life after several months of use? I used to get 5-6 hours with wifi--now it's more like four. I've had mine since mid-November and use it daily.

Re: Cool keyboard that works for Archos 5 IT
I agree that this one takes up a good chunk of screen real estate, but isn't that part of the point? Bigger keys, better typing experience. And do those of you who are panning this one really think the predictive text on the others is as good? The predictive text on this kb is fantastic.

Re: Cool keyboard that works for Archos 5 IT
Wow, great call on this keyboard. Larger, far more accurate, great predictive text. Very similar to the one on the HTC Hero. I highly recommend this -- as the previous poster said, it will increase your typing speed dramatically.

Complete and persistent freeze -- What does it mean?
Like many people who've had the A5A for four months, I've had my ups and downs with it, but since I learned to manage the memory effectively (thanks to this forum) things have been really smooth with FW 1.7.71 (never did the most recent update due to an "if it ain't broke don't fix it" approach). In...

Re: Fullscreen Browser?
It would be nice if FS worked at startup on Dolphin, but I just tried it for the first time, and I gotta say, it's really nice to at least have the option.

Will it rotate the home screens to portrait view? That's the feature I'm looking for.

Allen,
I just updated to Dolphin 2.5.0 (love the Dolphin Browser). I like the new interface but one thing has me baffled: Is there no quick way to get to one's bookmarks anymore without using a gesture?

Re: Wifi hangs and disconnects when A5 goes to suspend
I have exactly the same issue as the OP -- and have had it ever since I've had my A5 (3 months now). I've tried disabling powersave and changing the channels setting and neither of those have had any impact whatsoever. Whenever I come out of standby, no matter how short a time it's been, the wifi sh...

Re: All settings gone, barrage of crash messages AGAIN
So if system16 has never had the market hack installed, doesn't that mean these crashes that zap all your apps and settings are caused by something else -- and not the market hack?

Re: Email Accounts Disappeared.
@ 4Dthinker, You're lucky. Yesterday I had a lock-up and spontaneous reboot (the A5 rebooted itself) and I lost most of my apps, all of my settings and login info, both email accounts, etc. Luckily I have apps and bookmarks backed up to the SD card, but it's still a royal pain to have to bascially s...

Re: Stability?
For the most part, it's great. However, since installing 1.7.33, I've had two out-of-the-blue crashes that erased most of my apps and settings -- even had to re-login in to my Google account like I was starting over. I use Advanced Task Killer with the market installed.
