Upload the tracks somewhere so we can see the actual files.

Re: FireFox Question

Alright thanks. But let's take it one step back, at 'enabling wifi under sde'. There are instructions on the page on how to do everything, but what do i do on the device, and what do i do on the virtual machine? What is this virtual machine of which you speak? - The instructions on the page for set...

Re: Sleep mode, well kind of

I don't really see the point of this, because i don't understand what you actually do with the archos after playing the 'fake' file. Can you explain that for me please?

Re: timefrain for a new archos 5 OS (any)

We already can build .aos files. I know that I had added a very basic utility in archutil to do so. Einstein took that and really fleshed it out. You can create much more versatile .aos files with his aos-tools library. If the demand wasn't already met, I would add the functionality to archutil. I'...

Re: QuickTime MOV file JVTCompEncodeFrame heap overflow on a605

I tested Opera on my archos 605 ( http://bcheck.scanit.be/ ) And found this bug: Apple QuickTime is prone to a heap buffer-overflow issue because it fails to properly bounds-check user-supplied input. Successfully exploiting this issue allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code in the contex...

Re: timefrain for a new archos 5 OS (any)

Archos hasn't even given us (as Developers) an option to build .aos files.. One of the developers, cryptyk, is trying to find a solution for that. But please don't hold your breath, this could take a loooong while...

Re: ARCHOS 5 & 7 Open

I'm not really clear on something: is there any point to installing this dev firmware if I'm not interested in experimenting with it? Isn't that basically all it's for right now is for people who want to play around with it and get ideas for what may be possible in the future? If that's the case, I...

Re: Got VLC up and running under SDE. REALLY slow, though.

Oh - I see what you mean. I don't know how to package up my existing file system as an aos/initramfs yet. Archos should have given an option to build .aos files, or compile the current settings/files in Angstr├Âm.. How are we (as developers) going to release our work? Anyway, i see cryptyk is worki...

Re: Open Development questions

how hard is it to potentially develop a distribution for archos. i mean i have made my own linux install from a stripped minimal install. but ive never ported anything. It's like finding pieces to make a puzzle. Some of the required pieces for the Archos are lost/unreleased/broken... It would requi...

Re: Developing tutorials?

Right now it's more about knowing linux than about programming. Download Ubuntu (or any distro) and create a virtual machine on your PC. Then you can play around without fear of breaking something. Force yourself to do some basic things - edit a file, move files around, install new software, instal...
