Re: Is Archos nearing death?
I've been wondering the same thing... I mean, the last time I tried an Archos product I was left underwhelmed... in fact, I'm not even using them as strictly MP3 players anymore and quite frankly I think their offerings were lacking in AUDIO quality :( The only product I still consistently use is th...

Re: Newbie Problem....
Awesome! Archos is a rare breed. It's not the perfect item and you will get a couple of errors (probably) and whatnot BUT it is indeed a great item. I've had mine for 3 years+, been using it 5 days a week for 6+ hours a day and it's still going strong! (probably will have to replace the battery soon...

Re: Newbie Problem....
I have never used iTunes but I thought that they added DRM to some files (basically some type of lock to prevent piracy). Maybe your Prism software cannot convert those specific files. Try downloading another program. I believe the last time I used a converter program was from "Xilisoft" or some com...

Re: Newbie Problem....
The Archos DOES NOT automatically convert videos when you copy them... this is why it is not playing. If you are just connecting the Archos, letting your computer recognize it as a hard drive and just copying the files over, they wont work... You will either need to buy the plug in OR convert them f...

Re: Marketplace will not install HBOGO to 80G9?
I don't think most/any tablets play it. (Doesn't HBOGo rely on something phone-specific?!? Not sure.)
I think I had posted a similar thread before and it seems the app needed something that the tablets were lacking.

I think that's going to be a stretch! lolArchos5Fan wrote:The 605 reads 32GB SDHC cards just fine. I wonder if it can read the newer 64GB SDXC (formatted to FAT32)?
But hey, you could try it!

Re: 605 Always Crashes/Restarts.
All of my Archos players have been prone to crashes! ALL OF THEM. I'm not sure why, if it is their integration of high capacity hard drives, + CPU + good battery all working together and one of them just craps out. Question, does this seem to happen when the Archos has been playing for a long time? ...

Well... sound quality has stayed consistent as far as my ears go. All Archos players have a volume cap due to EU regulations but I have not perceived any decrease (although this is not my main player anymore.). If you believe that you need more volume/refinement/sound qual, I implore you to get a he...

So... are we going to have these by Christmas?!?
I'm looking to update my old Archos 7 160GB with the 80 Turbo 250GB... (if they ever release it!)
Also, will the Turbo ones have that "bubble" thingie on the screen when pressed?
Thanks.

Re: Possible to load Android onto a 2009 Archos 7?
As far as I'm aware... NO! I believe there was a "developer" firmware going on but with another OS (not Android) and it wasn't very good. But good news is that their new offerings are cheap enough and you can get one of those. I think you can fetch a lot of dollars for your Archos 7 (due to the grea...

Well, I don't have a 4GB one but seeing that your Firmware version is so old, I would update to the latest without question ;) I upgraded my player every time there was a new release and didn't find any problems for what I use the player for... (i.e. just DVR recording, accessing my media server, mu...

Did you tried the "Profiles" section when you access the options and then check if you can: "4) Press the "menu" key and then Add a Profile and configure the bluetooth 5) Now you should see your phone as a one of possible choices, if not - this means your phone does not announce itself as DUN. I remember people used to sell the codes cheaper on eBay... you can probably check there first if you plan to buy it.

Joikuspot kicks ass!!! Anyway, this I posted on another thread: From what I can gather, You want to use your Nokia E72 and your G9 via Bluetooth in order to connect to the internet? I'm not sure if it might be the same as the Archos 70 (the one I have) but I had to: 1) Pair the telephone and Archos ...
