Have you figured out how to repair/replace/upgrade the 30gig hard drive version of the 605??

Have you try resetting it again? Or even try reformat the hd through the recovery menu?

How'd you got it fixed for free??

From what I know, the internal memory on the 605 will only allow hard drive with a specific serial number. So you will not be able to just replace it with any hard drive on the 605. You can only replace the hard drive if you can hack the hd and replace the serial number on the new one with the old ...

How about an upgrade for a 605 30gig to 60gig or even just a straight replacement? My hard drive died a while back and now it's just collecting dust. Please, can you help me or is there just no way for upgrade for the 605f (30gig).

Yea, after this experience I don't think I want another 605. I already installed the GPS on my 605, so if you want the GPS you have to call Archos to get a new code.
