Re: Clear the hard drive.

I am no archos expert and do not know of any hidden menus but ... if you press the square shaped arrow button on the opposite side of the menu button you will now see a setting page. If you now select System you should be able to scroll down and see how much space is designated as used or free. If y...

Re: External HDD and partitions.

ok I have sorted this now, did some reading on the 604/504 forum and it appears that the 604 archos used with the DVR can only see one partition, must be the same for the 604 wifi. So I just made the existing partition bigger from 250 to 500GB and the archos can now see this.

I am using my 604 wifi with the DVR station to connect a self powered 1 TB HDD which is split into four partitions. I use one of the partitons for my archos which is formatted as FAT32 which I store films on, but it is now full. So I formatted another partition in FAT32 of the same size. My problem ...

Budwzr I set up another account as an administrator in windows 7. I can now browse that user account and all that is stored in it, but when I select the C drive and enter the correct user name and password nothing happens, the archos seems to think for a short while and then returns to the C drive p...

Re: File sharing with vista

Mark, thanks for your reply but not really sure what you meant :? :? . What I am trying to do is stream video from my laptop to my archos, but when I try and do this the archos prompts me to enter a user name and password. I am the sole user of the laptop so do not use a password to log on, and the ...

Re: Getting external USB drive to work?

havent tried a usb powered drive but when I plug in my self powered hdd to the dvr station it recognises it by showing a confirmation window on the archos screen. I had to format my drive as FAT32 as the archos wont recognise NTFS, whats yours formatted as?.

Re: Firmware 604 Wifi

A possible work-around would be to use somthing like super http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html or handbrake http://handbrake.fr/ to transcode your video into something the archos can play.

Re: Hard drive replacement and possible upgrade.

Hi junior and Mr.X, if it is possible to change the hard drive on the 604 wifi please leave details, as this would be grate. I currently have a working 604 wifi so presumably no probs finding the serial number.
