Re: Music on my 605 but not in Albums !!

Hi, You have posted this in the wrong section, as this is for discussion of Archos 5 IMTs. However, your problem seems to be simply due to a lack of complete tagging. Download a separate tagging application, such as MP3Tag (http://www.mp3tag.de/en/) and simply add the required information to each fi...

Re: Support of Ad Hoc WIFI

Your experience is the same as everyone else. The Archos does not support ad-hoc WiFi, only infrastructure access points. Unfortunately, there is nothing that can be done about it.

Re: Easiest way to sync all files onto Archos 5?

Or use Microsoft SyncToy 2.0 with your Archos in PC Hard Drive mode... Works for me and quite a few other people on the forum...

Best of luck!

Re: Are you satisfied with your Archos 5?

LOL! Well, I'll look forward to being blown away by it... But I still like the screen size of my Archos and the huge amount of storage, which allows me to carry my entire music collection, a number of films and TV episodes, as well as a backup of all my pictures and data and still have room to carry...

Re: Are you satisfied with your Archos 5?

Ridiculous post! I will be the first to admit that there are problems with the firmware on the A5, but until phones have 250GB+ storage, have screens the size and quality of the Archos and can play an equal or larger number of file formats, I'll be buying and using a dedicated PMP. Form factor is al...

Re: Archos 5 IMT 250GB: HDD Upgrade / Hack / Dual Boot

If you don't care for the boot logo and already have all the plugins enabled as you bought them you can go for the SDE route like explained in the other thread and in my blog post. If you'd like to stay with an open flash you should install the special SDE aos file that only works on hacked firmwar...

Re: Archos 5 IMT 250GB: HDD Upgrade / Hack / Dual Boot

I have an Archos 5 IMT 250GB (currently running official firmware v1.7.11) and I think that my hard disc is on its way out... I have had the dreaded "FAT32" errors and although I have reformatted my Archos and got things working again, I think I am living on borrowed time. There is no need to worry...

It also frustrates me that I couldn't pull in my contacts in one fail swoop, i had to import each and every one manually, and, to the best of my knowledge, i can't pull in my outlook calendar. I am not sure about the calendar, but it is possible to import all your contacts in one go, as I managed i...

Re: USB Host compatibility list ( Archos 5)

Is there any possible way to change a GSM phone to CDMA so i could use it on Verizon?? I found these iPhone clone things from China that are only like $200 on ebay but since they are from China they use GSM but I have Verizon which uses CDMA so I wouldnt be able to activate it. Is there anyway to c...

Sorry, I meant to reply, but haven't got round to checking the settings that I use on TVersity... I'll do so later today, if I get the time...

Cheers,

Re: Bug: uPnP

I don't think that this is a bug, as this has not been reported before, as far as I am aware. It sounds rather more like you might have a problem with your Archos. Have you reformatted your Archos? You might also try re-applying the latest firmware. You could also, as a last resort, follow one of th...

I use TVersity (latest, free version) and have not seen this problem. I am on firmware 1.7.11

Re: Ipod touch Apps on Archos!

In a similar way, you can install Windows 7 by taking a magic marker. crossing out 'Microsoft' and writing 'Archos' on the install DVD instead. (Keep in mind 'Archos' MUST be written with a capital 'A' or THIS WILL NOT WORK.) Now when you did the Root hack correctly, a slot revealed itself at the t...

Re: screen turns off when charging?

Okay, well I have managed to run the test with the Archos plugged into a USB cable and set to charge only... And... Complete madness! The screen, although configured to never switch off when on "Battery Operation" and on "Power Supply Operation", turns off after 1 minute and 45 seconds! Well, I am s...

Re: What USB devices are compatible with 5 IMT minidock?

With the standard A5 IMT, you are limited to devices that use generic drivers that have been provided by Archos, so most USB mice, keyboards and memory devices should work. You will not be able to use devices such as GSM modems, as the drivers and other interfaces are not available on the A5. There ...

Re: screen turns off when charging?

The Archos, I believe, should use the settings for "Battery Operation" in this mode. I do not care if it is using the settings for Battery or power supply, but it should use one of them, always and consistently. I don't remember noticing anything odd about this power method, but will test to be sur...

Re: screen turns off when charging?

I have just tested this to be 100% sure. I set both my "Backlight Off" and "Power Off / Standby" settings to "Never" and simply left my Archos alone. On battery alone (no docks connected), the Archos remained powered on and the screen illuminated for at least 15 minutes, at which point I stopped the...
