I want to be able to connect this hard drive to the DVR station and have my 605 recognize it and play files from it while on the dock. Research here talks about fat32 and having a powered hard drive but no mention found for working hard drives of this size. Thoughts?

Here is my 2 cents. Unless the bugs are worked out by Archos and early adopters. I am sticking with my 605. So I guess my vote is "never" - as in I am never going to buy this product.

My opinion is something went wrong with this capability and Archos can't or is not willing to fix it. I guess they think it is best to remain silent instead of offering an explanation to customers. I personally am not impressed that my device is not capable of doing what it was advertised to do. Yet...

Ok you're right yet one can still be impressed by what is being done today by the competition.
