Re: Download Angstrom w/E17 Spz0's build (A5IMT)

So, who has installed this and how'd it go? Is it good enough of a replacement to use instead of Archos default? Also, can someone post a full step by step for a stupid little newbie to this kind of thing like me?

I think I had the same problem. I tried everything and ended up having to RMA it and get a new one.

Re: Unable to downgrade from SDE

I changed the update file to the default Archos name, and it went through. However, now it's giving me an error:
Update
update failed N0K (code 221)
press the ON/OFF button to restart

Unable to downgrade from SDE

I do everything the instructions tell me. Boot into recovery mode, repair disk, copy paste the .AOS file in, and press done. Instead of installing the older firmware, I get the familiar Angstrom loading screen. Help? Tried with pretty much every firmware version I could find.

Re: Making widgets not suck (modified Twitter widget included)

Hi. I just ran pbt's Google Maps widget with the browser running and a connection to the web, but all I'm getting is a white screen with the arrow tab in the upper right. I was wondering if the latest firmware might be affecting it. Any thoughts would be much appreciated. ........Paul Yeah, I'm get...

Good idea. We don't have enough people here knowlegable in the field. We should really be branching out to more tech sites and communities for help.

Re: Does your A5 get hot when in use?

Does the back of your A5 get hot when in use, mine does to the point it is almost too hot to touch? .....and it keeps cutting out and rebooting??? i guess its overheating? Mine gets a little warm, but nothing that bad. The Archos 5 is still pretty unstable. Mine crashes all the time(especially when...

Re: azerty keyboard instead of qwerty??

Settings-->Language and Region

Then change your Language to French. The keyboard will be chaged to the azerty layout, which is used in French speaking nations.

Re: How does the A5 find Album Art?

I've had problems with Album Art as well. Never seems to work the way I want it to, occasionally just setting the art for EVERY album to only one picture. It's confusing.

Re: Newbie question?

Hate to be the bearer of bad tidings nekko but if I were you I would get a refund on the 60GB. They are prone for their headphone sockets to go kaput after about a month. Be careful about HOW you go about updating your firmware. Archos tricked people into updating because they found out a chap on t...

Re: Tech support in USA

Archos customer support has been pretty good to me the majority of the time as well. I've never been able to contact them via telephone(I've waited hours and hours and hours to no avail), but putting in a support request I can usually get a response within 1 or 2 days, after that I simply reply to t...

Re: Cracked Screen :-(

See if you could get the model of the screen and replace it yourself is all I could suggest then if Archos doesn't cover that. There's plenty of sites out there on the internet that sells consumer electronics parts.

I'm sure you can return it. Send in a support request on the Archos website.
