I mostly use the music player, and I play podcasts on it (I keep these in my /Podcast folder so it doesn't end up in the library, and browse for the one I want to listen to podcast using the file manager). And I have a bunch of photos on it as well.

I'm also going to investigate using it for ebooks ...

Out of the choices listed, I'm always going to go for more supported formats. But I'd also like:


* a podcast player that tracks (un)read items and doesn't share the music library

* a standard mini-USB connection so I don't need the proprietary cable

* a WiFi "hermit" mode, which ensures that ...

I'm liking it so far. Not perfect, but I haven't found any major unsurmountable issues yet, and the capabilities fit what I need reasonably closely.
