Well I have the headphone jack problem and im out of warranty. Ive sent the email off to support twice and still not one response. Ive taken the A5 apart and have been able to get sound to the left side only as the plate on the right has broken completely off. I think im done with Archos as a company.

Every now and then when I charge it it gets pretty warm not every time but like every 3 days or so when I plug it and and choose the "just charge" option. As for battery life I use the music player more than anything and I say it lasts 5 hours give or take.

I dont see it as a death per say. Zune just recently announced an hd model. Only thing it has on the 5 is an accelerometer. My only gripe with archos would be to add the plugins into the price to make the product complete when consumers get their hands on it.

Id say you can expect an email insinuating you broke it with no explanation of what was wrong. +1 on the vmoda bass. They are the most comfortable set ive tried so far. And the bass part is pretty surprising as well. I got mine from target with a gift card but now I see them on amazon for $19.99.

Mine mainly locked up during music playback never had a problem browing the web or with movie playback.

Mine started doing it more and more frequently till it would only go to the main screen and nothing more. Jaffar had to step in to help with the warranty side, and im currently waiting for its return.

I think that would be because of the zune software. If the zune was capable of using lets say wmp to transfer files you would see the same results. I wouldn't have gotten rid of my zune if they allowed the use of wmp.

Try getting wmp to search you pc for songs if it hasnt done it already.
