Re: Archos TV+ Web plugin - Can it play Hulu / CBS / Veoh ?
Nope, does not play Hulu, at least. The flash on the Archos devices is rather limited, and not the same as that which works on regular PCs.

Re: Web TV Plug In
That's true, but if you buy the one for the 605 it will work on the TV+, I believe. Can others confirm this?

bye bye!
Well, I picked up a refurbished HP slimline on ebay for $450 (US) with TV recording and graphics cards, and so I'm selling my TV+ after a year. The HP is much bigger and less pretty than the TV+, but it does fit easily enough on its side on my TV cart. It's quiet for a desktop PC, but you do hear th...

hacked Apple TV better than Archos TV+
The main problem with the Apple TV (similar in price and hardware to the TV+), was that it is crippled in terms of features and access compared to the TV+. But it has been hacked using something called Boxee. See: http://www.macworld.com/article/136751/2008/11/appletvboxee.html?lsrc=top_3 "IÔÇÖve al...

daylight savings messes up scheduled recordings
My TV+ dutifully changed it's clock appropriately when daylight savings time changed over in the U.S. But then I discovered that all my scheduled recordings were an hour off, and I had to reset them. Did anyone else have this problem?

Re: end of the TV+?
The problem with the HTPC route is that, at least at the low end, there's bound to be a lot of fiddling. I'll need an irblaster of some sort to work with my system, it's hard to figure out what kind of video recording card or video outputs you get on these systems (i.e., will it work with my TV?), s...

Re: end of the TV+?
Which HP slimlines are you looking at ?? Haven't really researched it yet. But maybe something like http://cgi.ebay.com/HP-PAVILION-PC-S3321P-SLIMLINE-2GB-500GB-WIFI-TV-TUNER_W0QQitemZ250310575062QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item250310575062&_trkparms=72%3A570%7C39%3A1%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C240%3A1318&_trksi...

Re: end of the TV+?
The Archos website updated today, announcing new firmware for their latest generation "internet tablets." Nothing for the TV+, and the TV+ is still only to be found illogically listed as one of the portable media players. Seems pretty clear that it is on its way out. Guess I'll start saving for a bu...

Re: Is there a way to get the TV+ broadcast a TV signal to my 60
I don't think the problem is that they don't care. I think the problem is of a piece with Archos's strength: they live life on the technical cutting edge, and there is risk and unpredictability there. TVPortation promises to deliver an amazing technological feat: everything that a Slingbox does for ...

Re: end of the TV+?
You are correct that one day most television will come from the internet, and so some kind of computer device will be attached to (or included in) every TV set. But it is hard to say how it will happen. HTPC's which cost thousands of dollars have so far been a small specialized niche, because of cos...

Re: Is there a way to get the TV+ broadcast a TV signal to my 60
TVPortaton, if it is ever delivered -- we're all getting skeptical at this point -- would allow sending TV signals from the TV+ to the 605 anywhere on the internet, including cable TV signals. But if you just want to stream a show that is already stored on the TV+ as a file (like a downloaded or rec...

Re: end of the TV+?
And unlike the generation 5 portable devices, there's no successor to the TV+ in the works. Is it a failed experiment? I think the correct way to put it is that there is no successor that is announced yet. Without having any information about it, just speculating, I am sure Archos is working on the...

Re: end of the TV+?
Amazon.com US is advertising the 250gb TV+ for $245.91, more than $100 off. Sounds like an end-of-run sell-off. And unlike the generation 5 portable devices, there's no successor to the TV+ in the works. Is it a failed experiment?

Re: Cinema Plug in
I've always been able to install plugins by copying the downloaded software (it's actually just a key) to the root directory of the TV+, using either a direct connection to my laptop (via usb) or by using a usb thumb drive. Have you tried that?

Re: UK iPhone ad labeled 'misleading' for lack of flash++
Is this good for Archos -- bad news for one of their competitors -- or is it bad news for Archos -- as they could be accused of similarly exaggerating their functionality regarding Flash (though not on TV)?
