But, I would never buy an iphone as long as it were hooked to at&t with a stupid $40 contract.

HandBrake works great although a bit slow on a mac, and I think there are windows and linux versions. It has settings for chapters, framerate, target size, bitrate, greyscale encoding, file type/codecs, subtitles with language and other picture settings.

I saw that as of right now it's split even 12-12. We weren't much help.
(I voted 30, because it's so much easier having it all in one place than stored in a few different cards that are easily lost)

6. Total lack of marketing in US. Probably due to the size of Archos, there isn't much advertizing. Apple always did and always will have amazing Ads, and the iPod was pushed much more than any Archos player even though archos was (and i belive) will always be one year ahead of apple. Probably less ...

one is a video game console the other is a portable media player... i understand the psp can play music and video, but only ~4 gigs of space with an expensive-ish card.

I would go for the archos, but i'm not a huge fan of video games, nor do i find much peasure in hacking.

i was going to get the 80GB 605 wifi... then cross country (track) started so now i own the iriver s10(BLASPHEMY!), and the're like polar opposites.

but UMPC's are getting more appealing and i could see buying one in a few years when they have 32GB SSD, real battery life (~8 hours), cost $300-600, and are still smaller with operating systems optimized for their size cause xp dosn't work on a 4.7 inch screen, and vista just dosn't work...

Any regrets over not forking out for coverflow?

well even just 5% of my music dosn't have cover art and coverflow looks horrible... its all just 'eye candy' anyways. i never browse for a song via album and if i do, coverflow is not my choice. when i want to just browse i do so by looking at ...

im pretty sure pink was one of the biggest sellers in the secnod generation ipod nano line, and in the ipod shuffle line. I don't understand why they don't have a pink one, im pretty sure the main target for the ipod shuffle line was little girls who want everything pink. the archos 105 has silver ...

well a DVD is 4.7gb. Compressed its about 1 gb+ depending on quality. So you could probably fit 3 DVDs plus some music on the 4gb, because formatted drives always have less space then claimed.

i've gotten some movies down to 500MB (about half a GB); and dvds have special features/menus ect. so ...

it would depend on the price. if the price points are similar for the storage, and they both have full flash wifi and touch screens, i would have to go ...

Update.... eventhough logmein works, its really useless because its impossible to type on the remote computer!! All you can really do is view things but not do anything with them. :cry:
