Re: US and European Titanium builds to differ?

if my device is any indication, the uk xs range has pretty poor wifi signal strength, only showing 60% signal 3 ft away from the source.

Re: Archos platinum hardware info

If you want to make a backward step, the gen 9 devices had 3g support - the gen 10 devices are far superior though and for the sake of 3g, which is easily overcome with mifi or even wifi or bt tethering to your phone - and maybe 3g support will be added by firmware update, it's only a case of adding...

NEW FIRMWARE UPDATE

There's a new firmware listed on the support site - it was posted yesterday, but is still showing as 'Forbidden' - hopefully it will be available tomorrow, and hopefully it will improve performance, my device is getting a bit buggy with the archos video player fc, and battery is far from great. All ...

Re: My Archos 101 xs Refuses to power up.

Previous models were very sensitive to cold, the batteries simply won't operate below a certain temp. Put it in a warm place and leave it plugged in overnight, hopefully that will sort it.

Re: 64GB sdxc card problems

Fat32 only supports files up to 4gb, and in the case of avi files, only supports 2gb - it isn't really a suitable file system for a HD media device where even mediocre bluray rips will exceed 2-3 gb

Re: Modem

I would imagine there is no 3g support on this device ( no drivers installed ) I've tried all of mine huawei x 2 and a zte, these are the most commonly used dongles in the uk and as they don't work ( they do light up ) I don't think any will work.

Same problem here - just formatting card in NTFS - a bit annoying as I stupidly got halfway through my 60GB of music transfer before I thought of checking it!

Re: Optional Cinema Plug-ins

plugins won't install across devices - they are tied to the serial number of the device they were issued for. However, if you install BS Player, that pretty much eliminates the need for the cinema plugin * I just spotted the plugin is now offered for sale via googleplay - £4.00 ** I also just spotte...

Re: 64GB sdxc card problems

exfat is likely not supported yet - try fat32, ext3 or ntfs - these have all been supported in previous itterations of Archos devices

Re: software change

It's totally impossible for the firmware to accidentally change itself as it requires numerous deliberate button presses - if you still have this problem, explain it in more detail.

8o G9 1.5 turbo available today at QVC

Looks like Archos are clearing out their stock of G9 tablets ready for the new launch - I didn't pay much attention to it as I hated this model, but it's cheap and on 3 x easypay and comes with over £100 of added extra's

Re: Can my Archos 70 play WMV files? (New user)

It will play current .wmv files including wmv-hd video, it will not play older codecs. I think wmv9 is the earliest codec it will play, It's highly likely that one of the market apps, such as mx player, will play older codecs

Re: 64GB microsd compatability

I'm pretty sure any file as big as that would be full HD, in fact I've never even seen a blueray movie with that size once all the rubbish has been stripped - and the Archos will not play 1080p, so no is the answer to that. I don't even understand the other comment about 24 2gb files. All I can tell...
