Re: Amazon took down 160gb
Hopefully they will learn to get there shit together from this. Many people have said you cant sell a product this incomplete and expect to get new costumers when the first A5 came out and this version appears to be worse. Some people say that they need to be innovative to appease costumers and bui...

Re: Amazon took down 160gb
Product managers working at Microsoft, Apple, HTC, Samsung, Motorola, Sony, Nokia and other such multi-hundred billion dollar companies surely have been pissing their pants all since Archos has started to demonstrate how unbelievably superior they are to those monsters. The Innovator's dilemma is d...
Re: OMg
Seeing the Archos 5's problems and price drop in the months after release, I think I'm going to react like liamo77 and wait a bit. I'm so scared this is going to be another big farce. I'm hoping for an Archos 9 with Aero, Multitouch and a Ôé¼500,- price point , and I'm practically sure Archos can n...

Re: why did you buy a archos 5?
I bought recently mine to keep update myself, since I love new features (specifically in gadgets) I had to sell my Archos 605/DVR station and everything belongs to old generation on a huge loss. All credit goes to Archos, because they can not afford smile on face of their customers, they can not upg...

Opening Email locks up or crashes the Archos, still I am not able to open emails on it. Another problem, when I changed background/Wallpaper image (copied 2 new moving wallpape...

Re: Nice comparision but not fair because
To simply say "same as point 4" diminishes the fact that the N800 CANNOT do these things and are thus features that the A605 provides by default (or with the purchase of accessories/plugins) where the N800 may POSSIBLY support in the future. Not to mention, planning for "what may be available" is u...

Archos is more limited
N800 might be open, but the kind of things you can program for it are very limited, cause Nokia limits you to use the ARM part of the Texas Instruments chip. Everything that has to do with multimedia is on a DSP chip, nobody not even Nokia can use the DSP to accelerate multimedia applications on th...

Nice comparision but not fair because
1. Archos is actually portable and can be carried in a pocket so the N8x0 could be. 2. Archos comes up to 160 gb hdd but also has a flash model. I have already mentioned about it. 3. Archos can record video or audio or both with DVR. N800 could record Audio using mic. This point was also taken care ...

You should believe it
I don't believe that the N800 plays the same video formats, resolutions, bitrates, nor the same flash video such as Youtube. Search for N800 if you want to read more reasons why Archos is better for Multimedia, video and that sort of thing. The Nokia N800 and N810 aren't bad, and if they had built ...

Lot of apps for Nokia N8x0 tablets
Yes, you are right. There are lots of tablets available on Maemor.org which is open source but Archos does not provide any application support. Even they have released the SDK but I have not seen any major outcome yet. I hope Archos would come up with something interesting as Nokia.

IF this deivce ha a 80gb hdd, and supported mpeg, could record from the tv, and usb host, forthe same siz this product would be great! It has few things which you were interested I guess: 1) USB Host, there is an application for OS2008 which can bridge not only Pen Drive, Flash card reader but also...
