I have had my battery in the DVR-station in priciple constantly for six months except when I bring the unit on trips. And the batteri is now totally broken. It lasts 15 minutes. The instruction book did not say not to keep the battery in it so I am counting on getting it replaced.

If its an omission, then it could probably be rectified with a firmware upgrade. Hope Archos is reading this, cause when they say DVD quality I expect that to go for widescreen too.

I am digitizing my VHS collection and I do not want to store it on hard disk since it takes up too much space. I will save the VHS tapes so I have another backup if the DVD goes bad. I can lend the DVD to people.

I contacted tech support again, this time the person thought the DVR Station was defective. She said the video input jack was defective. I told her that the video passes through the dvr station just fine, when I play the tape on the vcr, through the dvr station, I can see the video on the tv, but ...

I do not have the travel adapter but as I understand it the adapter is not used for watching things on the TV. For that you use the video cable connected to the ear phone connection.

I think you mixed up source and destination in the description if I am not reading it wrong. The SCART is connected to the destination (your TV or something else) and as I remember it is the input to the DVR station that is restricted to composite or SVIDEO.
