What display are you using- is the output format compatible to the display? Have you tried other output settings to find one that your TV may be more compatible to?

Your TV probably doesn't support macrovision which is why you can record from your tv without a problem. What connector are you using? I am assuming composite since otherwise I can't see how macrovision is being sent.

There is no comparison. Its like comparing apples to oranges. Sure a laptop can play back videos and do so much more. I agree that if a person is travelling anyway with a laptop that maybe it makes a good video viewer at the same time.

There is of course a tradeoff between screen size and portability.

Yeah they are legit, but I'd rather have 2 more standard capacity batteries because double capacity batteries are a bit thicker, and I find that my 504 is already thick enough as it is.

Well you're doing a fantastic job because I haven't seen any spam for a while. I check a few times a day to go in and help clean up but everytime I check I must be too late because the forums appear clean. You probably beat me to the punch.

I synched WMP and created some playlists. All my music is on a linux computer shared with my main windows PC /Samba. The m3u it creates shows the UNC path of the linux PC where there original mp3 were stored. Now these m3u playlists do not work on the Archos.

Anyone have any ideas what to do?

I can't say that I've noticed that but if its the case then it can only mean the unit is consuming more power and battery life will be reduced. Maybe the increased HD spin is causing it.
