In my mind, the next generation is open for min. two OS. You can switch between android and windows. Several months ago I heard about it.
Because, I know about android but windows 8 on tablet devices? Never heard before, because this OS is new for me as user. I will test both versions and then I can make a decision "live". :D

The logic behind having Windows on a tablet would be to have a mature platform with lots of legacy software. but that would mean x86, not ARM. A better ARM-based solution would be able to dual-boot Android and Linux on a tablet (and be able to run the Android software under linux, with a choice of full-screen or in a window). we could then use Linux software such as Gimp and Open Office (to name but two) alongside stuff that has been written for - or ported to - Android.
