Right i think ive found the answer to this annoying little bug with sdhc cards. I had this recovery mode happen everytime i put the cards in, i knew the cards were ok as ive been using them without fault on my 405 for about a month. So i thought i would sit down and get it fixed if i could, this is what ive found.

First of all back any data you want to your computer from the card.
then, put the problomatic card into the machine, allow it to crash and reboot, once it it recovery mode select fix and leave. This takes a few mins to cycle but leave it DONT hard reset.
Once up and running again 9 times out of 10 it saw the card,
Then go into menu, system, then scroll down to repair and formatting tools and select that.
In there select Format sd/mmc card.

this will rename the card to something like 605 sd.

DONT EVER JUST REMOVE THE CARD WITHOUT SAFE DISCONNECT!

Copy over your media either by memery card reader or via the player.

Ive just done this method on both of my 4gb cards that were crashing the player constantly, they can now be ejected and reinstalled without the crash.

Please let me know if this works for you, its a simple fix but hopefully effective.

Note, this was on firmware version 1.7.13
this also "seems" to speed up transferes from pc to sd cards.
