Great specs, great form factor (nearly the same as gen8 A70), incredible price. I'll definitely watch for this one to come to market.

For 7" tablet fans this is the device we will wait for.

Listed as a "kindle killer" by some, but not really any comparison between the 2 other than size.
Pure Android with Market access, etc.
Superior CPU and power management with Tegra 3
HDMI port, 8mp camera.

I am ready to buy it the second it hits.
One could hope Asus has some monster available amount of these ready to be sold, it would be a smart and very profitable move by them.

It is hard to believe that price, and it its worth noting that ASUS announced a 7 inch tablet at CES 2011 that has yet to be released to market.

However, I want one and will wait a few months to see if it comes out before buying something else to replace my A70.

Thats the thing right now. While it looks like it may be real, until vaporware turns into hardware there is always the risk it never sees the light of day.

The two sizes I like is a 5 inch for portability and 7-8 inch for somewhat portability and a little better viewing experience. We'll see if it is real and if it is it could make the Samsung 7.7 price drop dramatically. Till then Archos 80 Turbo is still a sweet little unit at $300 or less.

I think the announcement of this came directly from CES by the CEO of Nvidia.

While it could be vaporware, I find it highly unlikely Jen-Hsun Huang would publicly announce this if it was not solidly in the works.

Granted some market condition could change this, but the move is calculated towards gamers and it is a smart move.
When the capabilities of this CPU is really shown, platforms like the Sony PSP are going to be passed by.
This will sell big in my oppinion, the other quadcore manufactures better kick into gear if the are anticipating taking a share of this

Well, if it has a dual-core Snapdragon for $149 then that would be a great deal!

My 15 month old A70's screen started giving me problems so I bought a G9 80. It is great for browsing the web but I still prefer the 7" format for toting about and ebook reading so $149 would probably see me buying another tablet.

Looks like they are indeed using quadcore @ 1.3ghz. And Android 4.1 (jellybean?)

$250 or less and I'll preorder whenever available.

I'm pretty sure this guy was supposed to come out at $199. I thought I saw something from NVIDIA mentioning it being the same price as a Kindle Fire.

Either way, I'm not planning on upgrading my tablet until I can get one at 1920x1080.

I've seen the same rumors. Some said $150 as well. Any sub-200 price would be an incredible value IMO.

You mean 1080P on a 10inch screen I guess? I've been pretty content even with the A70 7" screen at 800x480. To be capable of seeing better than 720p on a 7 inch screen you have to be inside of ~16 inches from eyes to screen, so seems like limited benefit.

The biggest upgrade factor for me will be more RAM and getting away from the Froyo app/system memory handling.

The Asus Memo 370T has just passed FCC and should be available shortly.
Looks like all the rumors can be put to rest.

Announced and up for pre-order. Some compromises with no rear camera, no micro sd. But still a heck of a value.

In this day and age to leave off a micro SD card slot so an owner can increase the storage capacity, is a crying shame.

Specs do look nice but this decision is mind numbing.

The Google move is towards cloud only so the lack of external sd and mini hdmi was done on purpose to get people on their cloud services.

USB host mode is important to a lot of people and amazingly with all the reviews there is still no clear answer if it is supported or not.

I fear it is not supported, again to push for cloud only storage.

To bad, was all set to order 3 of these tabs but now I guess the wait is on for the original 370T

Yeah and I guess there are two schools of thought for this. They must be thinking that they want this unit to appeal to a narrower segment of the market. Even though unit sales will be less, the ones that do buy are more inclined to use their other services, and that is where they make the revenue.

Personally I would rather the unit appeal to wider segment. Even though I am not making the money on the unit sales, as long as I have it someones hands they will be more inclined to look at the other services I offer.

I'm not in marketing though so I'm sure they feel the first option outways the second option, and I would be shocked if they don't have mountains of data to support that decision. Pity though for us users that just want a cranking device, and a lower cost is icing on the cake. :)

Sure is a pity but it is clearly a move in direct response to Amazon and Apple to compete for the cloud content provision.

It's ok, I can wait, I would rather pay $300 for the Memo 370T than $200 for a crippled Google tab

I will be passing on this tablet. No SD slot is a deal-breaker for me. I need expansion, and I need it local... not on a cloud that requires me to be online at all times with my tablet. Especially when my son is watching HD movies. I don't have time for buffering or any of that nonsense.

Like I said in my earlier post on this same thread... I'll be waiting for a 1920x1080 tablet to come out before I upgrade to a new one. The price isn't really a big deal for me. I just need as much space as possible (without a spinning drive), and a nice high-resolution screen (need my next tablet to be 1080p). Those are my real concerns for my next device.

Have you seen anywhere that the 370T will be a released product? All the rumors I read made it seem like the 370T was morphed into the Nexus 7. I'd also be surprised if Google would team up with Asus without some contract language to prevent competition.
