Thanks 8)

Isn't some kind of announcement by Charbax in order about the future of the Wiki? A huge amount of work, over a long period of time, went into generating the info there. No backup?

Wiki is fixed again.

Anyone can edit the wiki, that's a good and bad thing. Anyone can add real information, but also every random clown that thinks it's funny to delete everything is fully capable of doing it.

So, maybe a mirror?

Last time I mentioned an error of some kind in the Wiki, I was politely invited so fix it myself. About 18 months ago.

Well that is the point of a wiki. Anyone can make an account and make changes when they see something wrong.

Fixed. Just make an account and undo the last revision (which is usually the spam, delete-everything revision that was visible previously) if you want it resolved faster. Undid to last stable revision for the main page.

EDIT: To save a post, I'll edit here :p Yes, that's all I had to do. Just undo that and it goes back to the most recent revision before that one. In this case, that one was good, so all is good.

Thanks, that's helpful. I've kept away from the Wiki in case I screw something up.

Why you dont update the wiki [ I mean WE the community]?I started the page for the Archos 80 ,http://wiki.archosfans.com/index.php?title=Archos_80_G9 i am not a native speaker of english so i tried my best. Also i dont have all the time of the world and wiki is a community tool. So why dont we the community use this tool for our own good?

Does anyone have a repository of .aos firmware for the 605 4GB? The link to Archos is the only the latest and it seems every site that claims to have 1.7.06 eventually leads one to the Archos site which returns a 404 error.

Hi all,

I'm evaluating the Archos 43 IT as a replacement for my 605.
I use my current device in two ways: as a standalone player and as a TV player with the dock. I know there is no dock available for the A43IT, but I've seen it has HDMI output...

The only problem is I will need a remote control, so I want to ask you about two possibilities:

a) Use my current Gen5 Remote Control connecting a infrared receiver through the USB. Is it too strange? I've seen a lot of android apps doing the reverse, using the device as a remote control, but I want the opposite.

b) Use a Wii Mote. I know is possible to use it in games, but nobody says anything about the android menus/interface. Is it possible to play, stop, change file, etc.?

If that's not possible then I'll have to wait for another device (as the Samsung Galaxy S 5.0 does not have HDMI).

Thanks!
