Archos is lucky that engadget got one without excessive screen problems:)

I thought the review was fair and summed up nicely by this quote:

For what it is, its value is unmatched. Here you have an 8-inch slate running (mostly) vanilla Android 3.2, whereas some bargain-basement models costing just $50 less run GingerbreadMoreover, what other tablet this small and this cheap has a full-sized USB port? Or a kickstand? Yeah, we're coming up short, too.

Couldn't agree more. The product I received was very faulty (see my post in the screen defect thread), but minus that I love it and don't want any other tablet. Now I'm just waiting for a response from Archos so I can get a replacement. I will not be requesting a refund to buy another product, just a working Archos G9 will be perfect.

And I must say that as long as I get a working replacement, I won't let the very bad unit I received effect my view of the company or the product. I just hope the return and replacement process can be accelerated a little bit seeing as I am very anxious to use it and my current unit is unusable :(

After months of testing Honeycomb tablets with similar specs, we didn't begin our review of the Archos 80 G9 expecting to be blown away. And yet, by the end of our testing period, we had grown rather attached to the thing.

Sweet! Can't wait for 1.5Ghz models to be released.

It doesn't say codecs support as one of the most powerful pro for this tablet. But it's engadget, they are not used to multiple video codecs because they are spoiled by apple :D
