I like what I have read in various reviews and it seems to do just what I need and am teetering on buying one !

This is what I will use it for:

I want to be able to play music on the device

I want to be able to play music stored on my PC

I want to be able to surf (via WI-FI) to find restaurants, cinemas when I am out and about

I would like to upgrade it to a more recent version of ANDROID

SO TO HELP ME DECIDE ONE WAY OR THE OTHER WHAT DO YOU THINK OF YOURS ?

The A32 makes a fine, compact mp3 player and even functions as a little e-reader/game player. You may need a MiFi type device to get online if no other WiFi signal is available. Battery life is very good. For the time being, forget any Android higher than 2.2 Froyo. It works great on the A32. If you feel you need some other Android you probably should look elsewhere to prevent some percieved disappointment.

I know I'm late to the game here but I really can whole-heartedly recommend the A32, just as long as you upgrade to the most recent firmware. Previous firmwares made playing the A32 in shuffle mode impossible (at least on my A32). The most recent firmware has fixed this issue, thankfully.

The only problem with the scenarios you've laid out is that the A32 only has wifi, so you really can't use it like a 3G phone to scope out local restaurants and such. You need to be connected to wifi to do this live, though I imagine that there are apps the preload this kind of information, which you can retrieve as long as you can tell the app where you are.

I have even used my A32 as an e-book reader. The screen resolution isn't great but I've been reading a book on my Kindle app without any problems whatsoever. Finally, if you have wifi access, using the A32 to play internet radio from around the world is just wonderful. I can listen to my hometown radio stations, even though I'm hundreds of miles away, or any other international station you can think of. FYI, the camera is pretty lousy except for outdoor shots but it's still nice to have in a pinch.

I own a second generation iPod and as a media player it now sits unused except to fiddle with music creation apps. My A32 is now my primary media device, even more than my A70. I purchased both second hand and really enjoy them both but the small form-function of the A32 makes it my favorite.

My 32 has never had a problem with shuffle mode, but then again, I'm still at 2.1.04 (because it works just fine for me).
