I Find snd-soc-tda19989.ko from Debian in Gen8 WebSite.this file is one of five file which copy from android module to debian for sound drivers . please send me one list of your module from android . how you can install sound in debian ? do you know how installing hardware in second os by mouldes of orginal os (installing debian hardware from android modules.ko).

how find sound error ? hardware or software ? thanks

So far I know snd-soc-tda19989.ko is a gen 8 module and you don't need it for gen 7.
have you inserted all of these modules and in the correct order:

insmod snd-soc-omap.ko <- you can find it in android
insmod snd-soc-omap-mcbsp.ko
insmod snd-soc-wl1271.ko <- you can find it in android, optional, (fm radio)
insmod snd-soc-wm8985.ko <- (probably already inserted but just to be sure)
insmod snd-soc-archos.ko

and then alsamixer should work

I am using the android ones...

sometimes something works on this device and sometimes it doesn't.

when insmod snd-soc-omap.ko answer : insmod:error inserting 'snd-soc-omap.ko':Unknown symbol in module.

other module inserted correctly but can`t play anything. and when type alsamixein in RUN nothing implement.when add music in music player nothing appear in menu . only disk writer is in musicplayer>file>perference>audio>output>plugin.

yes, mknod /dev/snd... was never done
i got it working, but video quality still poor
i think i want to try to see if i can incorporate the "stuff" from 2.0.45 to get the factory 3D working, i am using the sde kernel, and have been experimenting with a few others, i looked through some of my backups and found a source tarball that may work

i've just reflashed back to the stage-1 of my instructions and im about to modify the bubu sources for swap so i can gain multi boot...

try typing dmesg you will see the output log on why it wasn't inserted, also try removing uneeded modules with rmmod, to view current modules type lsmod, the problem i had was a "fragged" image now with reflash back to factory and a fresh image set up i have sound... note step "1"

it seems "firmware_class" was never loaded, does your touchscreen work? (adv i/o error) also, snd-soc-wl12.. and soc.ko were never loaded? looks funny, maybe the 32g unit differs alot, i have no way to tell, i only have 8g units...
im still using "no sound" it seems to steady out the display, i need the graphics and ram for gimp
i remove snd-soc-archos.ko in my init.rc scripts, got each running with "update-rc.d-inserv" the dsp chip wont start if the kernel can't read the firmare, and if the data isn't there (didn't reflash) it won't magically appear...

note: look at the init.rc of the legacy "android" firmware and you can have "more info" on how the andriod modules get loaded, i've also modified the init in the initramfs.cpio and removed the code that didn't pertain to my model.. i am also going to try and load fbcon.ko to try and correct the touch issue the device and still freezes with swap enabled(mmc partition)

I install device manager(HAL) and when insmod snd-soc-omap.ko and snd-soc-archos.ko in end of list detected sound card (Wolfson-wm8985 and FM/BT-WL1271) but can not play music . not sound hearing

how to troubleshooting this error in debian ???

# from a remote terminal
open alsamixer and unmute the speaker and turn up volume on dsp, pcm and inputs
or you can try aaconf and the alsa/alsa-base folder from your "rom"
or the audio patch from archos-generation(minus the modules of course)

you may need alsa-firmware from natty, i don't qute remember, haven't used android libs since the gold.img
>also note that i'm working on getting debian to function correctly with the 2.6.37 (kernel compiles) with some code from debian/non-free ubuntu/restricted and some smoku/meego to see if i can get wifi and pvr working without faulting, it seems to work with the meego port..., so "why-not"?

and second why you want use 2.6.37 kernel (i know upgraded kernal has better hardware detect , memory manage , file system and ...etc) but with this kernel androids (1.6 and 2.1) can`t boot and angstrom not working properly.why ??? you say why not !!!

i plan to port/reverse-engineer a sucessfully built kernel to "androidroot" and quad-boot ubu/deb/mee/avo
besides too many security issues, plus newer kernel is the only way to compile i guess, no old sources work

i'm currently flashing back to 2.6.27(2d-version), to try and get my "Microsoft┬« LifeCam Cinema(TM)(720i) working, perfect match for the screen,

, i also want to get my bluetooth rockr's to work in debian, i may be forced to upgrade

Thank you for your trying to develop archos tablets .
I think my sound problem is Seriously.

in androids (1.6-2.1) can`t play anything (audio and video with any format : avi flv swf mpg vob mp3 wav ..........). conter is stop and when play from sdcard fast go down . in angstrom and debian conter is zero and nothing happen when playing audio and video.in debian i can manage alsamixer but can`t play anythings .

can you help me find error in debian by many troubleshoot softwares???

register the device in the settings panel, then you will unlock your android, as far as sound in debian, i am not sure which software works with the android drivers, ubuntu has the firmare and alsa for the device as i said in earlier post, in fact the maverick version has full support for the sister device(nokian900), which has almost identical hardware... debian is based on on open-source and you are trying to use proprietary things, so you need to improvise, you can always try to compile a new drive and get things running, see this link: http://omappedia.com/index.php?title=Wi ... edirect=no it is more dedicated to the gen8 device though.

host mode seems to crash using the newer(11-11-10) bubu kernel (this is controlled with musb_hdrc default_mode=* ) 3 will enable storage, but my kernel faults

host mode needs ehci-hcd.ko to be loaded, i have yet to see it work

with my micro-keyboard...

I have problem with usb host . I modprobe musb_hdrc default_mode=3 and insmod ehci-hcd.ko but usb devices (cool disk and bluetooth and mouse ) not detected in debian . should I connect usb device to hub for power ( +5V) ???
