I waited for Archos XS release but finally got the galaxy note 10.1. I don't know if archos XS has quad core processor note has its own quad core processor and it beats tegra 3 in performance in my opinion. After archos 80 g9 this is the only Android tablet which I want to keep.
Archos depends on Texas Instruments OMAP processors for their flagship tablets. Since OMAP 44xx processors have been behind schedule, every device that uses this platform is behind schedule. XS tablets use OMAP 4470 and they are among the first devices to use this particular SoC (latest Kindle Fire HD and Nook tablets also use it, and they are just coming out).
TI OMAP 4470 is a 'multi-core' platform. It has a dual-core Cortex A9 for heavy lifting, dual-core Cortex M3 for low power operation and task offloading and a dedicated 2D composition engine to reduce memory bandwidth requirements. It should be very competitive with Tegra 3 because NVidia made several missteps in the design. Exinos 4 Quad is probably better overall.
