I have been looking at the 70b IT and thinking about getting one but I am just not convinced. I love the form factor and think this is THE BEST LOOKING 7" tablet on the market, but with the new rumored ASUS tablet coming out with the Tegra 3 quad core in a couple of months, it makes this hardware seem a bit dated already. I am disappointed that Archos did not give this tablet at least a dual core processor and 1gb of RAM to keep it from being obsolete in only a couple of months.

I would have really loved the ability to upgrade to ICS or JB on the device vs. being stuck with HC forever (it seems). I know some are having issues with ICS on the 80 G9's but mine upgraded fine and is running fine.

I think it was good that they upgraded the device over the original 70 tablet but think they really could have a big hit with a little better hardware specs and Android version upgradability.

If I get lucky, maybe Archos will keep the same look and feel of the current device and case, but come out with newer internal hardware to better compete with the other tablets in this price range. In my opinion, a dual core, 1gb device is the minimum hardware for the $200 price range.

Granted, I don't own one of these and I'm sure it runs ok for what it is, and I really want one of these, but realistically I just can't convince myself that I think it would be a wise buy at this time.

Thanks

Agreed. Seems like Archos agrees too and is already moving on Gen10...

I'm not sure I would be in the market for the G10 XS, but the new Element sure looks promising. I will be anxiously waiting to see what hardware and software they come out with on that tablet.
