Found the file that DBurrin refers to higher above (skype47_rearonly).

It is a single .apk file contained in a .rar file, so I unrar'd it on my PC and used MyPhoneExplorer to move it over to my Arnova SD card and ran it from there.

Installed and working flawlessly.

Many thanks to DBurrin for the information.

Yeah, I used the V47 that i linked to based on your infor earlier. I'll have to do another test call and see what happens. I was expecting to see a video calling on in the options like the linux and pc version of skype.

I'll have another play.

I have to say i'm impressed with this tablet especially at £139 from HMV.

no options for video or microphone in mine - just profile stuff, privacy and other generally useless settings
uninstall and check if you have uninstalled it correctly, delete all data, cache and so on
if the file you found doesnt work - this is the link i downloaded mine from
i think at the first launch asks something for the camera but i dont remember
when you launch it after that - it asks you to log in and thats all
i havent changed any settings - video calls work flawlessly

How odd, just removed skype and reinstalled from your link and it works fine. Gives me the video call option.

Odd as they are identical versions

Thanks Damian
oh - I've managed to install the full apps to without a custom rom

I try version of skype that posted, and real video working vary nice, but after few seconds of video call it like microfon is off on tablet 10 g2, i can see another person, can hear, another person can see me but cannot hear me. With regular call is ok, so think that video call is not good jet

Hi,

I just tried installing and it said it couldn't be installed, do I need to have installed anything first?

I have a 9 G2.

That appeared to be a good solution, but it only worked 1 time. The times after that, i can see and hear the other person, but the other person can only hear me for about 5 seconds. (and he can see me). This is frustrating. Tried different situations with earphone ... nothing worked. Only audio is no problem, but the combination video and audio is a problem. Very strange that it works for about 5 seconds... Gives you hope but then... disappointed.

Anyone with some good advice? I'm not the only one with this particular problem i see, so you can make a few people happy.
Please respond
Thank you!
