Dear Archos fans,

Looking for a little help for an android newbie. (I am pretty much a PC, notebook, and Windows expert as a retired HP notebook tech agent 2x their top agent worldwide but with android I am out of my depth.)

I am the type that cannot have a device without wanting to maximize what you can do with it. I hope to turn it into a multiboot system with the original Archos ICS install plus add Windows XP, 7, or 8. Eventually I will come back here for help with that process but for now I just want make sure I can put everything back the way it was originally if I need to before I start experimenting.

Could you please give instruction or point me to a good guide for backing up the original image including the recovery partition.

I have asked the same original image restore question of Archos support but I anticipate they will not come back with anything but to use the built in recovery. Corporate tech support agents are always very limited on what they can actually tell you no matter what the agent knows personally.

Thanks

Windows is for x86 processors, the G9 has an ARM... so you are not going to get anywhere with this project.

(Yes, I know WindowsRT is available for ARM machines - but only to OEMs who are designing a machine, and paying a large license fee to Microsoft. Unless you have a 'friend' at one of those OEMs, and you want to use ripped-off software, and you want to code all the drivers you will need without any documentation about the devices... basically, don't go there.)
