Dear Archos gurus,

Any help would be appreciated. I have a new Archos G9 101 Turbo ICS 8Gb unit which I have loved since I got it. But as you would have it I am a retired HP notebook tech agent (2x their top notebook agent in the world) and my computers are my toys and I cannot resist looking inside. I used helps from this site to figure out how to open the case. All I did was open the case disconnecting the 2 ribbon cables in the process (screen cable and white ribbon cable going over to the volume control). After having a good look I reconnected the 2 cables and reassembled it.

Now thw lights come on but nobody is home. The power/charging button lights up but I get no display at all. The unit seems to behave like it is fully working just no display. I have rechecked and reconnected the cables 2x. No change.

Again any help appreciated

Hi there,
I have a very simialr problem having had to create a workaround (as detailed elsewhere on this forum) after breaking the mini usb / charging port. Everything is now reassambled ok and power going through to screen fine as it lights up (albeit dimly) - but nothing appears on the display. I have tried volume/power reset to no avail - have you found any solution? If not I hope that someone else might be able to help. Thanks.

Dear Archos Fans,

My Bad on previous post. After careful thought and observation I realized that I had inserted the display ribbon upside down. Reconnected it contacts down and viola, everything working.

Thanks anyways you all
