Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to share some good news and let you know that all G9's (current and future) will be getting an upgrade to ICS in the near future.

Craig,

I think we're extremely lucky having an Archos representative in our midst. Can you please clarify that all the G9 tablets have the Haptic vibration hardware and hence the Archos ICS build will have Haptic support.
Also can we have access to videos in the market please.

NB I have 4.0.3 on my Samsung Nexus and it is brilliant!!!

I do not know about the Haptic support.

I do know that we have optimized our tablets to support DRM and therefore you will have access to videos in the market place.

Hey Craig, first thanks for the info! I was just wondering if you could shed some light on two things: First, will the ICS update be in time for CES or will it just be sometime before February? Second, will it be possible in ICS for me to plug in a USB dongle made for a Microsoft wireless keyboard/mouse combo and have it work? (Or just any wired mouse for that matter?) Right now this doesn't seem possible, and I don't understand why since we have a full sized USB port. If this is outside of your area of expertise that's okay.

Will ICS be installed on the 250gb 101's due out later this month?

Looks like first week of February for ICS on all Gen 9s.

Newly shipping devices will still have Honeycomb for a few weeks longer, but then they'll start shipping with ICS.

I really like ICS but am wondering about the DRM support - I can't find any information about it or how it's implemented. Thanks,

My G9 80 just downloaded it OTA. It seemed to download and install faster then previous Honeycomb updates! So far first impressions are that it's faster and more responsive. For fun I set the browser mode from Tablet to Desktop and it truely is like browsing with IE or Safari on a 1024x768 mini monitor! I'm posting this message from it. REALLY works nice. Pleasant surpise because normally these things slow down with each new release as more stuff is shoved in.
