I'm glad to report that I successfully upgraded Archos 70IT to 1TB tonight. I did use the the Samsung pinpoint M8 HN-M101MBB 1TB (Scorpio WD WD10JPVT. 1TB can also be used).
Reporting total free space of 953633.4 GB. Well now I can skip G9 and wait for Gen10 or until my A70 gives up the breath.
I really like the 7 inches and do not like Honeycomb apps issues. Froyo is perfectly fine for me. I do not even see Gingerbread advantage. I have Gingerbread on the Samsung Galaxy and on my phone but don't see any real advantage.

The tab functions normally, no issue so far. Only I had to recalibrate the screen and format media storage.

I have to say thanks to starcraft2010 for posting his first successfull upgrade to 750gb. His effort gave me courage to try my own. Since i did not have details or steps by steps ...I messed up my first attempt. But knowing he did it...and seeing on youtube some comments of other people who did it I knew it can be done. So I repeated the attempt being as careful as possible and was able to do it. I have not posted steps by steps because I have a feeling most people are not interested in doing this.
Bought an Archos 70 with a 25% discount about $200 plus 1TB hdd $100 = total $300. I feel it's worth it.

Anybody with strong interest to PM me and I will send steps by steps (my way) how I'm doing it.

And now Starcarft too has upgraded to from 750 gb to 1TB.
