Hello,
For learning and as a test, I like to try making a home-network between my eReader and my PC.
I work with Linux Fedora 17.
Here in Belgium, I have a Telenet wireless modem with a build-in router.
My computer is connected with a cable.
My eReader tablet is WiFi connected.
On my computer I have installed Samba and after starting the network, I can see the 2 devices, my PC and the eReader are connected:
Code:
[gastonv@gastonv ~]$ yum list installed | grep samba
samba.i686                          2:3.6.9-96.fc17.1            @updates
samba-client.i686                   2:3.6.9-96.fc17.1            @updates
samba-common.i686                   2:3.6.9-96.fc17.1            @updates
[gastonv@gastonv ~]$ sudo /etc/init.d/network restart
[sudo] password for gastonv:
Restarting network (via systemctl):                        [  OK  ]
[gastonv@gastonv ~]$ ping 192.168.0.156
PING 192.168.0.156 (192.168.0.156) 56(84) bytes of data.
64 bytes from 192.168.0.156: icmp_req=1 ttl=64 time=366 ms
64 bytes from 192.168.0.156: icmp_req=2 ttl=64 time=288 ms
64 bytes from 192.168.0.156: icmp_req=3 ttl=64 time=206 ms
64 bytes from 192.168.0.156: icmp_req=4 ttl=64 time=126 ms
^C
--- 192.168.0.156 ping statistics ---
4 packets transmitted, 4 received, 0% packet loss, time 3004ms
rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 126.677/246.909/366.007/89.504 ms

On my Archos 70b eReader, with an app called Network Discovery, I see my computer gastonv:
Code:
192.168.0.163
00:0C:76:93:F9:27

But I cannot see any directory or file from my PC on my tablet.
Now, I can read documents as a pdf-book with calibre or with dropbox.
With my eReader I like to see documents directly from a home-network, e.g. pdf and other documents.
Please my question:
On my tablet, is that possible?
So yes, what have I to do more in order to see them?
Many thanks in advance for each answer,
Gaston Verhulst.
