Hi All,

I have found great link how to find the hidden partionon:
http://www.openaos.org/~kevin/archos_an ... ation.html
but it refers to the different hardware. I have Archos 7o Internet Table 8GB tablet and I would like to install SDE but I do not want to loose some functionality when dealing with Android.

I will appreciate any hint on that.

Thanks in advance.

M.

Installing SDE on Gen8 is a very simple process. Download the gen8 SDE aos file from Archos' downloads page, then follow the instructions there to install it. This will not affect Android in any way, it simply adds a new boot menu that can be accessed by holding Volume - when powering on the device from shutdown/reboot. The SDE menu can be used to run other OS'es and includes a basic Linux Angstrom distribution to get you started. You can flash new kernels through the boot menu (such as OpenAOS kernel with bootmenu or the 2.6.37+ kernel with kexecboot) and with them get Debian or Ubuntu working.
