Have searched Aldiko's site and every possible menu in the Aldiko app but can find nothing which tells me how to actually add some books to it. There were two in it by default when I got the 70 today but would like to know how to add a few more. Anyone know please?

You need to place the epub books in the ebook/import folder on the root archios drive

Eh? :? Thanks but I haven't the faintest idea what either of you are telling me. You guys mean well but, as always with computer matters, everyone assumes a level of knowledge I don't have. Can you spell out exactly what I have to do, step by step. I wouldn't know a root from a bloody tree trunk to be honest

You can add eBooks in many ways including importing them from anywhere on your Archos or from you PC via WiFi.

Read the Help and Tips. Find the info for yourself. PM me it you need a small hint or two.

Patience, Grasshopper.

I'm locking this topic until you give me the correct answers because I don't want folks like kzod giving you Wrong info.

Allen I found rlauzon's post of Nov 12/09 answered this question very well and it works !
quote:
I've found that the easiest way is this:
1. Go into Aldiko and try to import some eBooks. It will fail (because there are no ebooks yet).
2. In your Archos storage area there is a eBooks\Import directory that Aldiko created. Put your epub eBooks in that directory.
3. Fire Aldiko back up and do the import. It will import the eBooks now.

Just put them on your SD card and use the Import feature...

There have been some responses on how to import the epub file, but is that what you are asking or do you want to know how to actually get the epubs? If you are looking where to get them, a great place is ebooks.com. You buy the book and they let you download it to your computer, you then move it to your tablet and you are good to go once you import it.

Thanks for all the suggestions everyone.

The problem was laughable really. I was using the 70 in portrait mode on Aldiko. Only the "Bookshelf" and "Author" options were available and I didn't realise there were other menu options below that due to not being familiar with it. Kept looking in the menu and so on but wasn't until I accidentally turned the 70 to portrait mode did the other two menu items appear - including "Download Books". It could only happen to me.........

I was never going to find the answer to that in the help files or past posts.....
