Lexerd - Archos 70 Internet Tablet TrueVue Screen Protector

Post by agentlotek »

I bought the Lexerd - Archos 70 screen protector. It is sitting on my kitchen table. I'm waiting for my Archos 70 to come in from UPS this week so I can't install it yet. I shall give you guys a quick rundown on this item then a full review once I am able to install on my A70.

2x Latex Finger gloves for installation - Black

(They look like tiny black condoms...lulz!)

Overall It looks well made.

And delivery was speedy as well. I ordered mine on the Friday Nov 19 with regular shipping and it arrived on Monday Nov. 22

*UPDATE*
Finally installed this item and it was the wrong size...I cut it to fit the screen size and applied it to my A70. Even with the size being incorrect, it seems like a nice protector (though mine looks terrible because I cut it lopsided lol) overall. If you can get them to send you the correct size it would be perfect.

Contacted Lexerd and explained my situation & they are sending me a replacement of the correct size.
They were amazingly quick to respond to my emails (less than 5 min between being sent and getting their reply).

P.S. Do not use the cloth that comes with this item because it will leave lint on the screen.

I bought two of these and paid extra for faster shipping. The protector is about an inch longer than the screen and it covers the speakers if you don't trim it. It is also 1/8 inch too wide.

I destroyed the first one trying to get it to fit. I emailed the seller because I believe they misrepresented the product. I will post the result here when we settle.

I believe you just got ripped...

these firm are really cheap.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... K:MEWAX:IT

If you go for bidding you can get one for $1ish

I already checked the size of the archos 70 screen. It's 155mm x 91mm (china uses millimeter like the rest of the world)

All you need one that is cut to the size and you're good.

I dont know why so many ppl fall for this. My friends would spend $10 on a screen protector for iphone and I can buy a pack of 5 for $2...

I want the anti-glare version as it's the one that works great on my iphone 3gs.

but they dont have it for small quantity yet.

I got the replacement from Lexerd and it was a bit too large, but that was my fault. My measurements were incorrect. I trimmed it to 155mm by 91mm as Nam265 measured, and it fits perfectly.

Here is the review I left on Amazon.

I ordered two of these and they arrived very quickly. Unfortunately, the size wasn't even close to the Archos 70 screen. I contacted Lexerd and they sent me out two replacements right away.

I'm very happy with the quality of the screen protector. The anti-glare works well and my finger slides across the screen much easier. It also doesn't show the fingerprints as much as the unprotected screen did. I don't notice any difference in the responsiveness of the touch screen.

Two rubber finger covers and a microfiber cloth are included with the covers to insure that you can install the cover as cleanly as possible. There was also a credit card type of plastic to squeeze out the bubbles. I didn't use that because the cloth did the job.

I've got one cover in reserve in case I damage this one. I would certainly order this product again. Lexerd certainly deserves credit for a good product and excellent customer service. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that the size they originally sent me was wrong.

awesome! thanks for the review. I'm gonna order one of these today after I get home from work!

The A70 is great, but is indeed a fingerprint magnet.

Are they still sending out the incorrect size?

I ordered the two pack yesterday and I just ran across this post. I would rather wait for someone to release a correctly sized protector than trying to trim it. I like my screen protectors to be as perfect as they can be.

I've used Lexerd screen protectors on several phones and they have always worked well. I received one damaged one time and Lexerd promptly send me multiple free replacements!

I'm going to shoot them over an email just to check.

Lisa @ Lexerd already replied to me and said that it was a mixup at the manufacturer and that my screen protectors should fit perfectly. Let's hope thats correct!

Just applied the screen protector to my A70.

Ordered from Amazon, got to me in 3 days! Application was easy, make sure you have a can of compressed air though. It makes the initial cleaning step a lot easier.

Protector went right on without any trouble, was the correct size, and has a very nice feel to it. No more glossy screen! All in all, well worth the purchase and since I got the two pack I have a spare.

Good job Lexerd!

Now about this whole glossy bezel situation... :doubt:

I just placed my order tonight (Wednesday) for mine (A70IT) from Amazon.com I've yet to remove the screen protector that came from Archos, so I don't have a lot of dust or fingerprints on the actual screen (yet).

Thanks for your review / message.

Just info for those thinking of ordering.

I too was originally sent the wrong size (though it was weeks ago). Lisa got me the correct size that is mentioned above. I didn't find it 'perfect'. Perhaps I'm just screen protector new, but I thought perfect would run end to end. I ended up with a 2mm or so space on one side. A bit bummed, but its fine enough so I'm not going to touch it now. I think if I new this up front I would have 'centered' it and the space wouldn't be obvious and I would have been really content. So for those of you getting this, I would center the protector along the long axis of the screen.

Other then that and the original size issue (which I think they should have been pro-active in emailing me about once they realized what happened), the protector is great (and the 'finger gloves' that it comes with are brilliant!!!).

I ended up getting Lisa to refund my purchase. I think it's obvious it's not cut right for the A70. I tried both of the ones I received and they're just too small. The gap is too big. She asked me to measure and they would send a new one. I suggested they get their own device or work with Archos to get the proper sizing instead of asking their customers to do their development. I was given a choice of returning the bad protectors or leaving them good feedback instead in order to get my refund. I chose to leave them good feedback regarding their customer service. Kind of held hostage over it but I can always remove my feedback and despite that, felt they were at least responsive so my feedback was not untrue. Their product is not all that great though if you ask me. The edges don't even stay down all the way despite it having a noticeable gap around the edges. I ended up ordering 2 matte protectors from HK at 1/2 the price. They can't be any worse, that's for sure.
