Is it possible to replace the battery on the Archos 32? I've had mine for a very long time and the battery doesn't hold a charge anymore. I'd love to continue using it but I'm reluctant to open it up in case I damage it (I still use it plugged into my computer for power via USB).

Any thoughts or suggestions?
Thanks!
Pierre

Same issue here and the USB charge keeps the unit really hot.
I am not opposed to finding any battery equivalent and soldering it in myself.
I do that kind of thing.

ok, the Battery is well marked.
It is made by COSLIGHT, that's not too useful. It is a 3.7 Volt 3.3 watt hour (that translates to 900 mA hour)
of type CA395249.

It measures 3.8mm thick and 48mm by 51.5mm, like the catalog page says. You will definitely have to solder it in.

I see a lot of stuff on sale overseas that "might" work.
I see some original repl. used on ebay in different countries. You take some chances with them too.

I see some I'd like to try, but they are 5mm thick.

I dunno. If I try one I'll post my results.

Thanks for the very useful information. I'm not great with a soldering iron but if it's straightforward enough, I might take a chance.
