Ha! 'nother reason to buy Archos... Just read that the 10.2 inch Android 2.1 tablets selling on ebay are claiming to be A8 Cortex when they're ARM11 and won't run Flash, as well as numerous other problems. Shenzin strikes again. For all the people ragging on Archos I bet those forums would be fun if someone made them. Come on Archos, my money is burning a hole in my pocket. ;-)

If this is real than the form factor is amazing a 9mm thin that is the same as the Archos 3 vision cam, but with a bigger screen

You're thinking about it all wrong. They're tiny, so you buy two of them and then mount them on a pair of glasses. It's a ViewMaster for the 21st century!

So its a 3cam killer, or 3cam deluxe? Makes me wish for the premature death of both my 5 and 3. (but I don't see any problem with a 3" viewfinder)

3cam is $99, this one is 50% more expensive as it ads Android 2.2 and the whole faster processor platform that supports it, together also with wifi, bluetooth, accelerometer and usb host features. There is space for both on the market, 3cam is a success as well. When Archos wants to, if they need to compete even more in the coming months, they could even eventually lower the price of 3cam to $75 and of 32 to $125, they would still make a profit.

A32 is already being discounted on amazon, even as a preorder. Wonder what the 2 (last digit) is supposed to indicate?

Archos 43 8GB = $199 = capacitive + hdmi + hd cam + 1ghz + FWVGA

I think this would be a sweet spot for pocket size. A beyond-vga camera, and a slightly bigger screen than ipod touch which you need for web browsing. Would love one maxed out with flash memory.

Archos 102 8GB = $349 = capacitive + hdmi + hd cam + 1ghz + WSVGA + Pixel Qi

I think a frequent traveler would also benefit from the 70, but a homebody should go for the 10 to mostly wean themselves off the pc desk. Would love one maxed out with disk memory.

The two is there because the screen size is 3.2 inches. Just like the archos 5 (even though it's 4.8, close enough I guess).

I can't believe I just realized this, but, the 32 has a disappointing screen. 400x240? Come on, the iPod Touch has 480x320. I expected the 32 to at least match that resolution, and even exceed it to (somewhat) counter the possibility of the iPod getting a 960x640 screen.

Not so important on such small screens. It's only an excuse from apple to keep the price high, maybe they even increase the price compared to current ipod touch from $199 to $249. That is perfect for Archos who can aim to offer much more useful features for less than half the price of ipod touch.

In other words, Archos likely can't get those 300 dpi screens at that size even if they wanted them, so they're just going for cheap.

The dpi is overkill. Apple only uses that because they couldn't get the superior Super AMOLED screens because Samsung wants to keep it for themselves.
