Windows 95 on Archos 7HT v1

If interesting, you can install windows 95 on you 7th

1. unzip archiv
2. install SDLapp.apk
3. From folder sdcard, find folder SDL and copy or move in root dir flash
4 reboot.

That's a nice feature.

But I bet it will be much slower than on the old 486DX-66.
Would be interesting to know though if it offers all the connection abilities of Win95 with WiFi and shows the attached USB-Sticks as Drives in the Explorer.

Not to mention the fact that it is illegal - as soon as you have an old COA for Win95.

I will only believe it, if i see it running.
And by the way, why would it be illegal? If you have a valid license for Win95 it is absolutely ok, and if not, there is no real harm done because the don't sell it any more. If you don't sell it, there could be no damages claim, because there is no damages.

However, why should i run win95 on an archos, which is strained to the limit just by running android?

Microsoft making (any) Windows open source, ha,ha!
It might be "abandonware", even if Windows itself is not abandoned and therefore this - by the way not legally existing - term cannot even really applied here.

If i'm wrong then please direct us to the source of windows 95.

I looked it up and really found an article where they said that Microsoft put Windows 95 open source. That was 2004.
It was to encourage young developers and to widen their horizon.

But it could only be downloaded that day and no other day.
Now guess what that day was ......

.... it was the 1st of April !

In Germay that is a day where even official places are allowed to fool the people.
I don't know if this kind of "fool's day" is common in other countries, but putting Windows 95 "open source" is definitely a hoax.
