Video Folder -too many files, how to put in folders?

Post by mikeycanuk »

I've got a lot of video files and scrolling without starting one is next to impossible and gets very aggravating. I've put them in folders but the Archos just dumps them all out into the display. Is there a way to use folders within the main video folder?

not that I have seen. In the next firmware update request thread, that is one of the items listed. The videos should be organizable by the user. I don't have that many videos on it yet, so it hasn't been a problem for me so far.

I wouldn't hold my breath. That's part of the video player, which is outsourced. I don't know how often that will be updated.

That's not for sure, mind you, but personally, judging from experience, I wouldn't expect much new functionality on that part of the device at least.

On the Android side of things, Archos might be able to make some changes themselves, so you're more likely to get some changes there.

Use one of the many file managers and just start your video from there?

Meridian Player Noble (0.15.0)

Haven't found anything better than this ... it's Perfect for the A7HT !

I've just created folders with my computer when I had the A7HT connected via USB, and sorted videos that way. Worked great, though yeah, I've not seen any way to create new folders with the tablet itself.

You can copy an empty folder and then rename it to your liking... ;)

You can use the app ES file explorer and that lets you crate folders. It is nice because it allows you to connect to shared folders in computers on the network as well.

Yep, very nice but a bit "hungry" for memory - 2MB+... That's why I use AndExplorer (no network functionalities, but I don't need them at the moment).

BTW: As I try to always keep 10MB of apps storage free (for system stability), I'm always after the best deal for me regarding value/memory! ;)
