The windows 7 drivers work, no need for new drivers

The screen and touch driver do not install (they give you the "wrong OS" error)...

This would be from a wipe and reload, not an upgrade.

the beta drivers from ftp://support.archos.com/Archos%209/Dri ... 5_Beta.zip do work!!
the installer for the screen does not work, but you can install the driver manually, that works fine!

I experienced that problem too when I used the regular touchscreen drivers. When I uninstalled them and installed the HID beta driver the onscreen keyboard would pop up whenever I touched a text field/window.

Windows 8 is great for Archos 9! It is much faster and smoother than Windows 7. I use a SSD.
A few advices:
Install the HID beta touchscreen driver, then you can swipe.
For the graphics driver: download the latest GMA 500 driver for Windows 7.
Install it with the Program Compatibility Troubleshooter (Control Panel, Troubleshooter). Then you have the resolution, which is needed to use the Metro apps.
I tried to install programs for Win XP and Win 7 and they work as well. E.g. OziExplorer for navigation.
Of course you do that in the classic interface (tab desktop in the metro apps).

I had a major headache with the keyboard. I had to uninstall an extra keyboard, I forgot what the device was called, before the virtual keyboard would work, leave the "Standard PS/2 Keyboard". Also the touchscreen didn't work until I updated the bios.

Also at one point my network adapter just went out. I don't know what happened. I had to completely reinstall to get it back. Anyone know what's up with that?

Also, does anyone know how to remap the keyboard and 'A' key. They aren't very useful in Windows 8 and we're sorely missing the "Windows" and the "Back" key that tablets made for Windows 8 have.
