Just ordered the tablet, but have read that upgrading to Windows Home Premium is a good idea. What's the best way to do this? Download or External DVD via the USB?

A download or USB PENDRIVE will be much faster than a DVD.

BUT read the instructions. I have never done that.

Archos 9 tech support: Windows 7 Starter edition will support the touch screen functionality. Installing anything else will void the warranty.

Hi,

You won't void the warranty by installing something else. But they won't help you if you have problems. The warranty is hardware only (I've read it somewhere on their docs).

Have you something missing in Starter that you need ? If no, don't do it. You must be sure to be able to bring you A9 back to life.

Bye
