Interesting name, can you tell us the story?
I've had my A9 for a couple of weeks now. Because I got an iPad in about the same time I've spent less time with the A9 than I would otherwise have.
Since this is my first Win7 PC I've decided not to consider moving from Win7 Starter until I've got it doing or not doing all I want to do. So far, the only thing it won't do is let me change the wallpaper. Through Win7 updates I got the MS Onscreen Keyboard which is much nicer than the Archos delivered keyboard.
See my answers below:

Whats the best operating system??
Right now im trying to decide between the archos 101 and the archos 9. I can get the archos 9 for 399 free shipping which i think is a good price but I wans the best device for reading ebooks on the go and checking email/writing notes in classes and watching content on the web. thanks!
Ebooks should be better on the A101 because of Autorotate.
Checking email should be about the same.
Taking notes in class may be a problem with both. Win7 Pro has better handwriting to text from what I've read on this forum. For this type of use I'd probably go with a netbook.
The A101 should be better for the web because of the larger screen size.
Battery life should be better on the A101 because no hard drive.
I don't think current technology is there for you yet. Maybe this time next year.
Hope this helps,
