Felt the urge to revive this thread-finally got Tiny7 up and running on the Archos. MASTER INSTALL GUIDE
:Note: You need to find your own copy of Tiny7, I cannot link to it here.
Before installing the OS, you need to wipe your drives. This is hard to do without a keyboard but it IS possible. You need to use a program called DBAN.
-First, download the DBAN .iso
-Extract this and edit the isolinux.cfg file DEFAULT to autonuke. Also edit PROMPT to 0.
-Save this and recompile the .iso. (Download PowerISO tool to extract and compile ISO files HERE
-Download "Universal USB-Installer"
and create a USB flash drive with DBAN.
-Insert the flash drive into your Archos 9 and boot.
On the Archos logo screen (the first screen you see when you boot), quickly press the A key to enter the boot menu. use the optical mouse to select the usb drive, and click either keyboard or the mouse button to select this drive.
wait the 3-4 hours for the autonuke to wipe all your drives. (default is 3 passes each though this can be changed in the cfg file.
create a Tiny7 boot USB device using Power ISO or other tool and insert/install on your Archos 9
After installing the OS, download the Graphics Media Accelerator 500 drivers
from Intel and install them.
Then install HIDeGalaxy Digitizer beta
and Clavier Keyboard
from the Archos site download page.
After installing the HIDeGalaxy Digitizer beta, go into the program and change "HID Digitizer Mode" to "HID Mouse Mode" to enable to touchscreen to work properly
