I have just received second hand A9 and i would like to restore it to its factory settings (a used manual did not come with it)

I have entered the Secuirty Centre and clicked on restore, but there is no restore point to go back to, it must have been deleted?

Is there anything i can do to restore to factory settings, there does not appear to be a firmware download on Archos.com

Your assistance would be appreciated

Will do.

Once downloaded, i create image from pars, copy image to usb stick, stick usb in A9 and boot and run disk utilty (savedisk) from usb and install image

Is this correct?

I understand now restore from the par files, i had been reading on the web about restoring using an image .img file and thought the par files needed joining to make a .img ...doh

I have all the files on my usb stick and have booted to DOS, how do i now type the 'savedisk' comand to get the program running? as the keyboard doesn't work in DOS or in fact in Linux

Thanks again for your advice and persistance :D

use a USB hub to use your stick and a keyboard at the same time
